hey guys, so this is basically questions for the people with coilovers or if people know,

what brand coilovers do you have in your na lancer?
how do they ride?
how much were they?
did u install them yourself or pay someone, if pay someone how much?

those are the 4 questions im interested in as i want to know what others have, then to decide what brand and stuff that i should go sort of thing,

Brand: BC BR coilovers
Ride: 6/4 spring rate, set to halfway damper setting all round. Ride is a fair bit bumpier but I personally feel it is liveable as a daily.
Price: $1300

ive heard bc are a good coilover, where did u get yours from?

Got mine from option1garage, which sourced it from just jap. So best to get it direct from just jap.

BC RA coilovers. BR's are for sissies

I impulse-bought them and the first time I drove it home I felt a bit of regret but then the first time I took a hard corner I was VERY pleased

They're actually fairly comfortable once you're used to it, its just a bit of a dramatic change when you first get them. Its only large bumps that are bad (speed bumps, train tracks).

I have mine set rather hard. It made the steering quite a lot lighter, which is good for everyday driving and a little bit of a handful at speed but you're not meant to be relaxed then anyway

I got Pedders to install them because BC make the Pedders coilovers (BC's are cheaper and come with the camber plates for free). They charged me lots but I'm not very car competent

They're the best value for money, but they don't sacrifice on quality (they have double the damper settings of most coilovers and are cheaper than just about everything yet still come with the camber plates).

RA and BR are the same thing lol just full name is BC BR Type RA

Hmm you're right, I'm not sure what I was thinking of.

Either way BC's are definitely the way to go, and don't pay more than $1300.

i have actually stumbled across those gold series ones while looking on the net.

Its a huge difference but if you actually drive occasionally in a way that benefits from them then you'll love them.
If you're considering coilovers in the first place then you should get them

A while ago a site had a half-price sale on Teins and got people excited until someone pointed out BC's were about the same price as the Teins on sale and had twice as many damper settings.

I don't know how the 'Racing Gold' series differs from the RA. There are a few different types so make sure you choose one rather than get any random BC coilover

I'm not sure if that person was me, but I pointed out that the Tein's were a partially threaded coilover vs the BC's which were fully threaded. Essentially the benefit of this is that for a fully threaded coilover, height is able to be adjusted without changing the spring preload.

BC Racing Gold is just another name for the BR's. I think BC Racing has 4 different types of coilovers being V1, BR, RM and ER.

In regards to the number of damper settings, a usual misconception is that the higher the number of settings means that the coilover is better. The only benefit this has is that it has a greater number of levels of adjustment but quite frankly, it would be hard to feel the difference between a damper setting of say 15 out of 30 compared to something close like 17 out of 30, so essentially those 2 extra levels of adjustment arn't really necessary.

yeah true aye, i remember hearing alittle about that, and yeah bc is pretty popular by the sounds of things, so i might look into the gold ones to see or price the other ones that u guys have,

it should change dramatically change from my suspension to coilover lol
