hey all, just a question i could be seeming very dumb here, but its a valid question as i want to know,
im thinking bout making a custom intake as i dont like where the injen ones sits and that right
so my question is, do u need a airflow metre plug thing on the intake like the stock one has? or if u do can you buy an aftermarket one? or can u have one and not have a airflow metre?
i hope ive been clear with what im asking. so i would really like assistance with this, thanx.

In short YES.
Simple experiment, unplug your air flow meter or leave it plugged in but somewhere else in your engine bay.
See what happens. Scary.

Why can't you just reuse the factory one?
Also I hope you realise it's not just a question of putting one in line.
The position of which is affected by proximity to bends and pipe size reductions. So it may not be as simple as just having it there.

Not entirely true.
The MAFs in the Evos and RAs are not the same as the one in the NA apparently.
