Hey,
I bought this housing off eBay:

and drilled out another hole for the boot release then just transferred the buttons and immobiliser chip from my spare key.
I must note that the housing it not a perfect fit. and you have to file away the plastic to get everything to fit nice and snug buts its worth it i think
was a gamble at first but easy enough to do once you get it

the Curse has struck again!!!!
and thats very bad luck man, as long as you are ok, then everything is good, your car can be repaired, your not that easily fixed.
Installed the bonnet protector the other day, but I had issues removing the air intake.
After unscrewing the two Philips head screws, how do I remove the air intake then? The manual seems to suggest that I can remove the whole thing, but I can't seem to pull it out! Noticed that there were clips towards the ends, and I'm not sure if that's what's stopping it.
Any tips would be great.
Cheers.

Lukas to the rescue! i had the same problem, then got aggravated but it solved the problem what you do it pull it up and it unlocks from the air box, to put it back in you repeat only push and lower it back down till it clips.
So pull it up, dont be scared it wont break, and itll pop out

So pull it away from the airbox, I'm assuming with one hand on the intake and one on the box?
Does the intake separate as one whole thing, from start to finish and flushed with the box; or does it end before those clip things visible to the side and possibly with two on the top as well?
The whole assembly moving together as you pull it is really disconcerting! lol
The whole thing comes out, past the clips, dont be too harsh but firmly hold the intake and pull up and out, the clips are on the inside of the airbox and tip of the intake, the ones on top in between the box and snorkel i dunno lol, i thought it was them but they dont need to be touched

I drove my car in the rain today as it needed a wash after yesterdays cruise.
I shammied it dry as the rain cleaned the dust off.
I also removed the kids seats and vacuum inside the car. I had sand on the seat and in the door rubber seals. Next time I go to the beach I will leave the doors shut.
All worth it as yesterday was a great day for a cruise. We were not sure whether to cruise on the Saturday or Sunday but in the end the correct day was chosen as today is a terrible winters wet day.

Thanks for the heads up. Did exactly that and it popped out. Now I know what's supposed to come apart!
Those clips on the air intake had nothing to do with the removal at all. I wish the manual could have shown some more detail in removal, instead of just highlighting the component. Have to say that those Philips screws were a struggle the first time I tried to get them out.
