What I've done today:

Dad helped me put an AUX-wire in the car today! I did the whole disassembling the dash/reassembling while he did the wiring (because I'm not confident at it while he's experienced). :)

Works a treat, but I couldn't get pictures in for you guys, sorry! But there is a thread here that shows how it's done. :) Quite old though so searching "aux install" should get you to it (applies to Lancers that don't have the AUX-in function on their cars already, the wiring is there you just gotta connect it to a 2x RCA to 3.5mm jack wire).
