not shure i got privacy glass back windows and back windscreen and got front tinted by mistubishi well they sent it ot be done

Privacy glass does not protect the car (seat material etc) or occupants from UV light, which over time can damage car interior and also causes sun burn. If you want to protec tthe car and people in it (especially young kids) from the sunlight, you need to apply a UV resistant clear film.

Glass blocks like all of UVC and Pretty much all of UVB which are the high energy 'ironising' rays, UVA is low energy and doesn't do that much damage unless you bake yourself for hours on end.

my VR is with at Rob Salvia of Hunters Hill Window Tinting and got a call 1hr ago about this problem!!!!!
Then i found this thread.

He said hes gonna put some rubber insert so it doesnt scratch the film..$10/door.

I guess time will tell if it works!

My tinter (Martin) said the privacy glass in the rear was fine and didn't recommend tinting on top of it since it'd cost more and may even go below the legal limit. Ended up just doing the fronts.
