Okay, as i said in my posts, i thought id try my hand at making a home made one. One attempt was semi successfull, others wernt :P

First one i tried was a sucton cup bathroom handle with a broken mini tripod clamped onto it...Worked for about 10 minutes before popping off!

Second attempt, i have done this before, but since ive got a really meaty camera now, it wobbles like crazy, espcailly with the bass lol. Im pretty sure i could just wedge something under it to stop it wiggling but if anyone else has some ideas on what to do that would be good...

Virtually what i had done was use that mini tripod and wedge it between the back seat and the rear deck then screwed the camera on. With the old camera, it worked pretty darn good but this one...a lil different. Plus, when i tried it on the first meet melbourne had, stupid camera only recorded the cabin of the car and not out the windscreen as it was too bright and camera couldnt sort itself out. stupid thing.

Any suggestions on what else i could do....

Have you tried on your dash ?
Stick 2 suction cups on your windscreen, you know the small ones you get with the x-mass lights with the little hooks on them, then use a rubber band from one hook to the other to hold the camera in place..

like this:
(suction cup) [camera] (suction cup)

With the rubber band strected from one suction cup to the next, holding the camera up against the windscreen so it doesn't move.

Use the suction cups James suggests. They are the ones holding that metal frame and heavy DSLR of CatP's. And only 2 of them holding all that weight. Yes. They work well.

I wouldn't risk having my camera on the outside of the car.

I wouldn't either, unless it is at slow speeds, like the rig I showed a page back.

Ah yes, ive seen this one. Not sure how the suction cup would go because if you look up the top, i used ones with suctions cups about the size mug and it still managed to fall off. Thanks for that anyway jamez =)

I went for a cruise tonight on the M5 tunnel with a cannon IXUS double sided taped to the front grille and took a few videos (also put it on the the rear bar of my friends civic) and it worked perfectly. I'll post up the videos soon.

That type of mount is not for driving though. Only low speed "Rig Shots" like this:

geez he's good.

tell him i said hello Adrian,
i would love him to come back to the club.
