Had a golf in the UK and fancy something different. Noted your post on the i30 and am not drawn to it at all.

The GT-A would be great for Bec, softer suspension, more subtle styling, semi auto -yet still fun for me to borrow.

Also found a m int purple Legnum VR4. She is looking at them both today

If you want a great family car by day and a fun drive for you on the weekends, the Legnum wins. By far.

I think they are awesome. The one in your link is the facelift model too... *drools*

Well the Mrs just test drove the Legnum and liked it. Start getting some insurance quotes and see where it takes us.

I vote for the sports back lancer, i could even sell you one :)
but if your still looking at SUV/4x4 you could also consider the Suzuki Vitara, you can get it in a 3door or 5door or even the outlander if its not too big.

I cant remember the names of the specific ones - but they're all alright.

But he already has one lancer lol

And once you have owned a up-spec model, in Hoggy's case an Olympic, you can't go back to a pov-pack haha

Legnum is top of the list at the moment. Can't believe we have managed to find a manual one, and in an awesome colour. My preference is the Evo vii GT-A but the wife likes the boot space in the Legnum.

!st step though, move house

There is a long way to go yet. Need to understand insurance and getting credit on a temporary visa is never easy.

Like all honda's wait until you need to buy parts for them

NRMA crash tested all the smalll cars a few years back at 10kph into a wall. bit over $2000 to repair a corolla or over $8000 to repair a Honda Civic....like wtf thats almost half the car's value :?

------------------

i30 diesel gets great reviews and its frugality is crazy, on the open road across australia they can get down to like 3.5L/100km.... I love the blue they come in to. The interior in them looks a bit tacky but really so does ours and I dont think the dash is what makes a car  Why did I get a CJ though you ask? Because at the time the diesel i30 had no cruise control!!
