Custom number plate - Yay or nay?
Hay guys,
I thought it's about time that I get some custom plates for the evo x.
I have been presented with an idea of putting the leopard print number plate on a black X. I've never seen the plate in the flesh, but I thought it might actually look good, the missus did like this idea as well.
I'm just having second thought, as the car is primary driven by myself and having a leopard print plate might be rather odd for a guy. Alternative is, id stick to the more common, coloured plates instead.
So I'm just seeking your thoughts, is it yay or nay?
Link per below to how it looks:

Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

Yep, here in QLD you can get custom plates from less than $500 and that's all you pay for life! If that's too much then $165 gets you your existing number in B&W 'classic slim' style which looks much better than the stock green or maroon ones.
Custom plates are great and I certainly don't regret my investment I only wish I'd gone the premium flexi plate as its a cleaner and more classy look rather than the premium framed. I can change them but from memory it was $500 to re order.
I'm a nay on the leopard print.

Here in QLD for $195 you can get what they call 'monochrome' plates. Basically the same as classic as in B&W with your choice of the letters being black or white plus you can get them in a slim 100mm high version and without the divider in the middle. The difference over the $165 classic plates is for the $30 you get a new number starting with ZZB if you want something a little different. Again they are yours for life with no more to pay.
Of course for $465 you step up to color plates where you have more choice in the colors and the number can be customized somewhat.
Top plates here cost about $5000, you have to think long and hard before paying out just for a new plate number.

Mine being 7 characters cost $3,300 (if I remember correctly). They were a present to myself when I took a voluntary redundancy package and like the car I love them more every day!
As you step up to the premium range the colour choices become limited.

MIVEC is not being used here in QLD, can be yours for $2395!
I just think if you have the money then go for a custom plate even if it's into the 1000s. But for some of us we have to do with the cheap end of the scale below $200.
I still think the B&W slim plates look loads better than the standard state plates no mater where you live and for most of us $165 is not a huge ask. Put $10 aside each week and before you know it you'll have new plates.
