i know theres other threads about how efficient every1s cj is but i'm making this thread to compare against other cars and with regards to gear ratio.
using 2.5L vrx vs 2.5L liberty specs as an example
a friend drives an old liberty and says its very fuel inefficient... i'm not sure if its just the way he drives it but it got me thinkin and i decided to bring up some specs...
lib: 9, 9.3 l/100
5th gear man ratio: 0.825
4th gear(highest) auto ratio: 0.694
vrx: 8.7, 8.5
5th gear man ratio: 0.775
6th gear cvt ratio: 0.518
cvt drive gear(extremity) ratio: 0.394
ok even if i assumed the L/100 was the same... is it just me or does the cvt ratio s**ts on everything else on the hwy in terms of high speed fuel efficiency? effectively allowing you to coast at higher speeds without decelerating as much as the other 4 ratios?
im not sure if he drives a man/aut liberty but lets assume its man... almost equiv to a cvt '4th' in terms of ratio... if im not mistaken thats alot of rpms...

fuel efficiency (yet another)

I can't reall understand what you are trying to say.
But what I can say is yes you'll probably find the CVT is a bit more fuel economic on the open road than the manual simply for the fact it can drop it's rev much lower. The manual of the other hand is revving away at about 3000RPM sitting on 100-110kph.
Around town though the manual is more fuel economic though.
