In saying that aswell, demo's these days are advertised dirt cheap for a reason... they ARE cheap. I have lost count with the amount of people thinking we have multi thousands of dollars in new cars these days.
Everyone does their car shopping on-line, therefore we must advertise our cars at almost cost price.

And here is a fun fact for everyone... even if it [u:5297bda622]was[/u:5297bda622] a signed contract, the dealer actually as NO obligation to honour the contract price anyway! If they decide they dont want to sell it for that price, theyre allowed to raise the price and the buyer can either pay the extra or terminate the contract. I havent heard of it happening, but that is the law (in Queensland anyway) and is in the fine print on the back of every new car contract. EDIT: And to everyone trying to convince the guy to buy the Ralliart, Im sure if he wanted to buy a used performance car he wouldve done that. Perhaps the reason he chose to purchase a low km Aspire with warranty intact is because that is what he wants...
It's a pretty bad law, just like prohibiting homeowners from hurting burglars. Even if it's legal, any dealer who doesn't honour what is signed doesn't doesn't deserve the sale, and hopefully no buyer is dumb enough to give in.
As for the RA, it's just that not a lot of people know that there is now a car that fills the void between an NA Lancer and Evo. It also doesn't help its case when it looks 90% VRX. The guy can go buy the Aspire if that's what he really wants; it's a matter of him having an informed decision.

Wheeelp, went back today, sorted things out.. got it for 25.5k. Put my deposit down and will be picking up the car end of the week. They apologised profusely and explained the whole deal with having to deal with the car 'owner' and negotiating with me then having to go negotiating with the owner.
Either way... I'm getting the car, dealers aren't so bad.. end of the week I'm an 'official' CJ Owner..

It's also nowhere near as simple as a dealer buying a car for $20,000 and then selling it for $21,000 and pocketing $1000 profit.
Firstly, closer to the truth would be dealer buys a car for $25,000, dealer sells car for $21,000, dealer gets rebate from manufacture at the time of delivery that hopefully puts them in the black (which is why they like to do deals they can deliver that month while they know what the current rebate is). And that's before you complicate things with taxes, shipping and delivery costs, insurance, yard space.
Roughly though, if you've made any effort to haggle on a normal car there would be less than $1000 in it for the dealer, and on cheaper cars only a few hundred.
