Damage to your car

Postby Nicho » Thu May 14, 2009 12:54 pm

Ok so this morning I went to Uni as usual and parked my car in the multilevel carpark there and then 2 hours later came back to my car to find that someone had hit the side of my car and badly dented and scratched my rear door. The door now needs to go to the panel beaters and my side skirt has been crack and needs to be replaced and what makes the whole thing worse is that the idiot that hit me did not leave a note or anything so I am going to have to pay out of my own pocket for someone elses stupidity!!! How on earth they managed to hit a parked car at such force to leave the dent and scratches that are on there amazes me because like i said it was in a multilevel car park so you really cannot drive very fast in there

Arseholes they are - and the sad thing is - they are everywhere.

You just gotta hope that karma catches up with them later.

Any security cameras in the joint?

That sucks, hopefully your insurance covers it and the excess aint too much.

Nah no cameras which is dodgy. My excess is real high coz mum pays for it so I dont think I will go through insurance this time because the repairs will be less than the damage

Shit man. I just saw something like that happen last weekend at Brandsmart in Nunawading. This Indian couple turn head in to park and scrape a Toyota Camry so badly, they just reversed out and parked elsewhere. Fortunately, someone saw them do it and they held them there till the Toyota's driver came back.

Such bastards.

I feel your pain brother... . Ask Shadows if he can help with the side skirt. As for panel shop, do it right. If you want a suggestion, try these guys:

I'm wondering if there's some kind of CSI you can go to report it. They may be able to get specs of paint to determine what car hit you then sue the shit out of these people.

In any case, I think you should make a police report for your own record.

I Agree with Ofey a police report would be a good idea just in the odd chance you ever find the prick

Yeah good idea, doubt I'll find who did it unless I see a car with a damaged front. Thanks for the panel beaters info and yes will definately check to see if shadows by any chance can sell me just a left skirt.

Some people are just jealous coz we've got better cars than them! I've had 2 dents on the wheel arches and a tiny dent in the door since I got mine. I always try to be careful of other people's cars but I'm beyond caring anymore
8, It's a Melbourne record :P

it always happens to the ones who loves their car mor than life itself. i kinda know what its like, i had a kid piss in my car, (well a 28yr special needs) and he had NEVER done that before.

but yeah my dad had a guy park next to him at Maccas one day and we saw him open the door onto out car, got out, looked, looked arund and parked elsewhere. we went out and there is a ding the size of a 50c and a scratch. so we put i note on his window saying that we saw what happened and the police are on their way and have his rego number. and had our phone number on the paper and we waited till he rang. (he gave us $500 to get fixed, and only cost $100)

Sorry to hear it, can you claim on insurance as sounds like its going to be a big damage bill?

Stuff like this gets under my skin, some ppl have nfi when it comes to parking & taking responsibility for their actions.

I absolutely hate these these car parks, especially in shopping centres.
