Lancer Platinum Edition

Based on the entry-level ES grade (and carrying its price), the Lancer Platinum Edition adds a reversing camera and sensors, along with leather seats, heated up front and with powered controls on the driver's side.

There is also a leather-wrapped centre console and steering wheel with Bluetooth and audio controls, 16-inch alloy wheels, side air dams, a chrome muffler tip and, of course, a "Platinum" badge.

The Lancer Platinum Edition is available for $21,690 for the manual version and $24,190 for the automatic.

I mean like WTF!?
Even a 2011 VRX doesn't have that.
That simply is WRONG.

Mitsu is screwing itself.
Can you imagine the next Lancer release in late 2013, it's ES model NOT having heated leather seats?

It would be worthless... .

So what features are they going to give the other models?
You don't pay 10k more for other models to get less.

Should be a platinum VRX in my opinion as people are already paying more and that could be the incentive mitsubishi need to get people to spend that little bit extra.

I reckon the older Platinum was far more worth it with the MMCS.

Awesome value if you're in the market for a Lancer, but you have to take into account that it'll depreciate quicker than previous models when the new Lancer comes out.

That can't be right???? MAybe it was a wrong copy and paste? Unless they are really trying to get rid of stock?

But what I do remember with the old CH models was the very last model they released before the CJ - had full leather seats, alloys and spoiler for the base model price. And the upper models then didn't even have leather!

Ask any Automotive commentator and they will tell you that the CJ is the model which saved Mitsubishi.

No doubt then they will squeeze every single last bit out of this model.

I don't think this is the last iteration of the CJ. We should see one more upgrade mid year before the fire sale (last hurrah of the CJ) begins at the end of the year.

I'm not so sure the next model will do as well especially since Mitsu has committed to being the first manufacturer to play in the Eco friendly space. And they must know many of their most loyal customers won't follow them into that space.

Surely they must see the Sports Sedan or coupe isn't dead. It just needs a new movie... .

The moment the production of the 380 was cut and the CJ brought in, Mitsubishi Australia's sales went up. Looking at the sales for the Lancer, it comes close or is in the Top 10, which is pretty amazing considering it's several years old and won't have as much fleet appeal as say the Corolla.

It'll be interesting to see how Toyota/Subaru go on their FT86/BRZ sports coupe. You don't need engine capacity, and the accompanying fuel consumption, to provide an involving drive.
If Mitsubishi can develop efficient conventional engines, similar to Mazda's SkyActiv, then they can definitely survive a generation or two. Electric and hybrid systems are still impractical and costly.

Im suprised the lancer dosent have better sales, why would the corolla have more fleet appeal??? I had a 08 conquest prior to the lancer, but 4SPEED automatic and no auto lights or wipers unless you get the ULTIMA,and only a three year waranty, just dosent make sense to me

Because Toyota have a bigger and better range for fleet sales. Many companies want large family cars like Camry's plus executives love the Land Cruises or Prado's. Mitsubishi really lost a lot when they stopped making the 380.
