Sounding real nice now but still getting used to the fact it now sounds like the subs aren't in the boot.

@troy: I didn't know the factory sub box split in half... looks kinda icky. No wonder it flexes so much.

I'd be running a bead of silicone before putting it back together, and possibly giving the inside a coat or two of FG Resin to make sure it's sealed up tight.

Rick the sub box actually has a clear o'ring around the joint to seal it.

Fitting the dynamat took me ages as I had to cut so many little pieces.

Where can I buy FG resin from and how hard is it to apply on?

there is no such thing as fiberglass resin. there is epoxy resin (expensive) and polyester resin (cheaper) are the main ones used for fiberglassing. only difference is cure time and strength. epoxy resin is best for structural.

you can get polyester resin here in aus, off ebay, i bought mine from here,

4kg polyester resin kit

1kg polyester resin kit

500g polyester resin kit

250g polyester resin kit

they have how to apply on the ebay listing, and i think it has instructions on the container also.

if you would rather the more expensive epoxy resin that store i believe also sell that.

Thanks Blakey for noting there is no such thing as Fibreglass Resin,

for a minute there I thought that Troy may of nailed me with his reply of Fibre Glass.

"F_ _ king Good" still stands until scraverX explains otherwise.

PS: Troy and I are having an ongoing friendly slanging match ever since I predicted he picked-up a Ricey Bug during the Melbourne meet.

Blue lights (interior, boot & grile) - DynaMat everywhere - DRL's, WTF is next ??

He needs to be restrained and cured by an Asian Ricey Bug Doctor.

Sam, ROFLMFAO *lol* *nod* *lol*
or maybe I'm just jealous.

No she wont, cause Troy has a sneaky game-plan he plays on her.

Whenever he wants to buy or do something to his car, he works out a way of making sound like a safety improvement which will be beneficially safer for when she drives the car with the kids in the back seat.

She falls for it every time, and Troy gets his away with it.
This is why he needs to be restrained and cured "NOW"

FG Resin, its called something else. I think I know what he means. You can get fiber reinforced putty/filler and the resin you apply to it to harden. I used it along with fiberglass sheeting to repair my bodykit. Depends what he is trying to do though will determine what he actually needs.

Now as for which resin do not use polyester resin at all. Its not flexible to work with and is easily damaged in final form. Over time it will buckle, warp and everything else. For the guys that were down in Melbourne for the National meet all noticed something about my bonnet having certain 'damage' marks on it. This damage was caused during the production process of the bonnet where polyester resin was used instead of epoxy resin. Polyester resin once cured shrinks and is not as durable and can cause spider cracks to form in the laminate.

Use epoxy resin wherever you can.
