Trunk floor rubber plug

Hi,

I just bought a 2007 Lancer GLX, but it doesnt have the Trunk floor rubber plug, i've searched on internet but without luck, is there any website where i can get this? Thank you... is kinda anoying because bugs can get to the car because of that "Hole".

Sorry if this is not the right forum to ask.. i just couldnt figure out which one could be.

I'd just try to find a rubber grommet the same size. either that or a piece of rubber and some silicone.

Yes you an buy a rubber grommet that fits in the hole. Either a rubber supplier or Mitsubishi should have it as a spare part.

You could also put a spare tyre in and that should cover the hole.

I always worry when i see the plug missing as i think the car has had a water leak issue before.

I would concentrate on fixing the water leak before plugging the hole. There is nothing worse for our car then water.

Often the seal at the top of the trunk has split and needs replacing or if it is okay then adjust the trunk to sit against the seal.

Parking you car on a forward slope often does not allow the water to run away as designed.

If you cant fix the water leak then maybe fit a rubber grommet with a short length of hose to let the water drain away.

If you put an S bend in it like in a toilet then you will have a drain plus water trap to stop the bugs getting into it!

Seriously tho, on a dry day, spray your car with a hose. Do one section at a time ie, 1) the boot lid, 2) the rear window, 3) the roof etc and check the boot after each section to see if there is water in it. If you see water then you have a good idea where to start looking for the exact location of the leak.

Its not just moisture coming in through the plug hole is it?.

Actually, yes it is.. i think i missunderstood everything about the water leak (sorry guys, my english isnt too good) but im meaning water coming through the plug hole.

In my country (Dominican Republic) there's no Mitsubishi store, that's why i was asking about any website that can have it.
