Picked it up this afternoon. It was new - but had 28kms on it (MY09). I did not get a spare tyre - just a can of spray and the jack etc.

How effective is the spray?

not too sure about the spray , i might use those stock bbs as full size spare when i go aftermarket for road trips/outskirt drives

btw , do you know whats the built date of your car ? you can see it when u open your door , either left or right can't remember

Congrats Vic.

I must say I was shocked to see a $60K plus sport sedan didnt even come with a space saver tyre. Saw that when they 1st hit the dealerships.

Disgusted was another word that also comes to mind.

Is there is actually space for a space saver or not, if u take out the packing foam where they put the jack and spray can?????

I have been told bad things about those sprays from when they were invented but they may have changed. I would suggest u do some research now, before u ever have to use it. If they still have the same probs its use may end up ruining a tyre worth $3-400.

Not to sure about getting another wheel. This us all new to me. Should have done more research before buying. Have nit been on a long run as yet. Perhaps in a few weeks, I will drive down to Bunbury for golf.

I don't to go rallying etc with as it is my city car I may do one of those Adrenaline events/courses to improve my driving skills and learn more about the capabilities of the car.

The build date is Oct 1998. that seems a long time ago from August 2010. I don't understand the ramifications as yet. Hopefully, it doesn't impact on the resale of the car in 4 years or so if I decide to sell it.

I don't understandwhT the car was doing in the 2 years before I bought it if it was new.

well 28km is pretty standard on a "new" car. so that's nothing to really fuss about. though not having a spare (full-size or space saver) is interesting. all that aside, congrats on the new car mate. hope you enjoy the ride. :)

yeah , the build date really make sense now why the price is only $54k for SST and Performance Pack GSR cause it's been in the warehouse for quite awhile.

Yes , it will effect your resell value in 4 years time because the car is already 6 years old instead of 4 years of your ownership.

28km is pretty good but make sure you take it easy for the first 1000-2000kms , varying the RPMs and try not to cruise control too much.

Congrats on your new car , it's a real machine ! don't worry about resell value , you won't sell it
