*PICS ADDED* Toodyay Bushfire fundraiser cruise (WA)

Postby Graham » Wed Jan 06, 2010 7:14 pm

Sorry for the late notice but I thought I'd post this one up for us WA peoples.

Running On Empty are having a charity fundraiser cruise for the recent Toodyay bushfire issues. (I haven't been up to date with the news do I don't know how bad it is up there)

These guys cruise every Saturday and this is no exception

MEETPOINT: Causeway Carpark (Old Helipad) [Riverside Drive]
DATE/TIME: This Saturday 09/01/10. 8pm meet for 8:45pm depart.
MAPS: Maps are $10 each, it is a bit steep for a map but it's for a good cause.

This cruise is expected to be HUGE. I don't know whart sort of numbers are expected but the Vic bushfire cruise apparantly had over 1,000 cars..

Meet: Usual place down at the causeway "hellipad"

Depart Time: 8.45pm Sharp

Please feel free to contact me and even post it up on any other sites as for would like to make this cruise a rather large event to help those in need.

bye for now and shall see you there.

Hello All,

As many of you may have heard; A bushfire swept through the outskirts of Toodyay destroying many houses and devastating many farms/livestock.

This bushfire has hit close to home, and I am sure you all know someone who has been affected by this fire.

Running on Empty Car Club is organising a Fundraiser Cruise to raise some much needed money for the people in Toodyay who have lost everything.

Details of the cruise are as follows:

Date: Saturday 9th January, 2010
Meet Point: Causeway Car Park, Cnr Causeway & Riverside Dr
Time: 8pm
Depart: 8:45pm

$10 Per Map. All money raised from the event will NOT be held by Running on Empty Car Club. ALL money will be given straight to the Toodyay community.

please spread the word.

See you all there!

Cheers,

Kia

Cruise is tonight guys.

People seem to be fairly sure that 800-1500 are going to be here!! I find it a bit hard to believe but it will definitely be interesting to see how many turn up. I dont think causeway carpark can facilitate any more than 500 cars lol.

Gonna head to the city and grab some car freshners then wash/wax my car ;)

Ahh no worries, I'll get there at 7:30ish and should be there until we leave between 8:30-9pm.
Thanks for the invite, but i'll stay with the cruise :)

Just got told that because it's such a large cruise there will be police escorts, they aren't going to sticker anyone but if people act like d*cks then they'll probably change their mind

Cruise was pretty cool, lots of hot cars rocked up!

Only about 250-350 came though which was much less than the "800-1500" expected :P but they still would've made atleast $2,500 to donate to the Toodyay community.

There were a lot of people though, not sure how many but lots and lots :P

Apparantly they wanted to use the carpark closer to esplanade but the people who owned it said no (you have to pay to get in)

These guys cruise every saturday though with the same meetpoint and same time so that's probably why they chose it :P

I need a stand for my camera, I hate blurry photo's :(

You should've played the police siren sound through your car's loud speaker, and watch as everyone scampers for their car :P Fast 'n Furious style!
