QLD Floods - Any ClubCJ members affected?

Postby casper28 » Mon Jan 10, 2011 5:20 pm

Does anyone know if we have any members that maybe affected by the floods in places like Gympie, Toowoomba, etc?

Was just thinking that it might be a nice thing to make a day trip to there and give them a hand if they need it. I know that lots of people need help at the moment, but just thought that if there was a member in need....

I wish that Noah would hurry up and build that bloody Ark.....

Toowoomba? Doesn't Tryg (ex-member) live out there?

Can someone in touch with him, email him and ask?

I am out Ippy way (Springfield), we aren't too bad here, but there is a lot of creeks that I am keeping an eye on. The road that I work on (Donaldson Rd, Rocklea) is under, but 4WD's and trucks can get through. Apparently the creek at Oxley/Rocklea on the motorway is on high alert as well.
Its just about to rain again, just dug a few trenches to try and direct the water away. At the moment it has picked up all of the grass clippings and the only way to describe the smell is that of arse.
3 dogs tearing around the backyard hasn't helped either.
Hopefully all the members will be ok, but if they need any help I am willing to stick my hand up. Wether its washing walls or throwing damaged items out or whatever, I'll be up for it.

I just spoke to Mitch Esler in Evans Head and he asked me to relay a message of support to any affected members as he doesn't have net access while travelling
My Mum is in Ballina and at the moment they are OK but Lismore and surrounds are about to cop the brunt of it
May I also convey my support to the members in QLD and Northern NSW
we are all thinking of you
Regards Chris.

Seems all states are getting rain but us here in WA. The day I left the Gold Coast was when the flooding started in Queensland, lucky I got out before then.

Best of luck to everyone affected and I hope that they all pull through safely.

I'm (selfishly, I guess) affected in that I have a lovely Black VRX waiting for me to take delivery of her in Biloela, but because of the flooding I can't get up there. It's killing me!

It's such a horrendous time for the weather, my heart goes out to all those who are (actually) affected by this tragedy.

I work in West End, a riverside suburb on the edge of the city. We've packed up the office and gone home. I went down and checked the river before I left and it's just starting to spill over it's banks and covering the road where I used to park my car. I'd say this is going to get a fair bit worse for Brisbane residents yet.
