Hi All,
I would like to get some EOI for a weekend cruise/meet to Borrumba Deer Park in the Mary Valley about 1 ½ hrs from Brisbane central heading North. (Be great to get some Mobile pics of the cars on the hi-way)
Leave Bunning’s Carseldine around 7am Saturday morning and leaving the park around 10-11am Sunday
I’ve stayed up there quite a few times over the years and it’s a great place to stay and a nice drive. …Not to far from Vegas but far enough that it seems like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
Quite a few car/bike clubs have weekends up there and the camping grounds make you feel more than welcome. There is a huge Barn type setup with wood heaters, free BBQ’s and the amenities are always clean. There are a few things to do up there…go into the pub at the near by town (Imbil), take the old rattler train ride, go up to Borrumba dam, Hire a boat and go fishing on the dam, or as I would be doing Chilling…taking in nature lol..
There is a huge open area that would make for some good photo ops as well as down by the creek.
There is a Kids play park so if anyone wants to bring the kidlets.
There are 3 types of accommodation……
*Cabin (Bring own linen)
*On-site Van. Older style Van but clean, No toilet/shower so you have to use the amenities block (Bring own linen)
*Pitch a tent.
I will see what I can do with pricing once I get some numbers to give to the Managers of the park but the pricing is fairly reasonable.
I would at this stage envisage it to be a weekend in late July or early August…the glow from the camp fire will look awesome reflecting off the CJ’s.
btw...here is a link...the photos dont do it justice though

SO…who is up for a club weekend away???

I'd be interested in this.....
However, if the wife and kidlets are coming with me, we would want to use a Cabin, but this this will be the issue >>
We only have a small 2-man tent, so we wouldn't be able to go.

I got to know the owners up there so once i have some numbers i will appraoach them to see if we can have a one night deal...or Friday and Saturday night for those that need a cabin/van...i will be doing the cabin as well.
I think i might be able to work out a deal being that its off season so fingers crossed.
Kids will love it up there...very kid friendly as well.
Im pretty sure they would do a farm tour on the tractor trailer /hay ride (Up close and personal with the Bambies) for the little and Big kids as well...they normally do but being off season they may not if there isnt enough ppl around.
