Re: Wheres your hood!?
Hey Mooman, worth trawling through this thread and PMing old members who haven't posted in a while to see if they're still interested in the club or still have CJs?

Wow it's almost the same idea, didn't see this before as last post is almost 4 years ago. I wouldn't do the Google maps thing for safety/security reasons.
I recognize some of the names but had a quick look at random profiles for last activity, most are 1-2 years old or more. I think a lot of them left for the Facebook group during the internal struggles a few years ago so will still have bad blood.

Re: Wheres your hood!?
It seems before the #@!* hit the fan, people were actively trying to get things rolling, from the looks of it we have about 8 members left active in the greater Melbourne region... Maybe the South Australian crew wanna join us? or the Tasmanians?
The google maps thing could be done if you had a marker on a major intersection near your suburb, like the South Gippy and Lynbrook Boulevard for my place, you can also have private groups so that only people who are on the list can see the map.
Although on a side note, I can see that map

Ahhh back to when the CJ was flourishing! We need this kind of activity now, and we can do it! I say we go putting flyers out xD
We are all in it for the fun!
Re: Wheres your hood!?
Issue with flyers is that the CJ/CF has a really broad customer base. You can sorta see it from the member threads that people with higher spec cars (VRX etc.) are more likely to join here to find out about what they can do to mod or service their cars.
The econobox buyers probably don't care how the car is as long as it goes from A-B, there was an article on tv just before that a large number of car owners don't know how to change a tyre and some that don't even know how to open the bonnet. Unfortunately (for us) the majority of CJ/CF owners probably fall into this category, heck one of my aunties has a CJ Sportback but I'd never ask her to be a member.
This is where flyers could backfire as they could annoy people, plus from a personal stand point I wouldn't be comfortable doing it. I think the best way to advertise is to be in public as a group, if you see a large group of friendly Lancer owners and you own one you may be enticed to say 'Hi'. Just my 2c x 10.

Re: Wheres your hood!?
Hahah That’s so very true, what about modified CJ/CF Lancers! I think doing it would be maybe to the needy side bahah, But I agree showing to others whilst in a group can easily increase the population of the forum, tbh I’m getting to the point where I’m tryna not be a chicken and just say “noce lancer bro” once I drove past a modified one, I’ve had one guy approach me once in his just as I parked to ask where I got my bumper from xD
