Someone have a spare set of wheels in SE Melb? Possibly need

Postby bunnishiwa » Mon Sep 30, 2013 6:43 pm

Hi,

Last Wednesday I had a new experience that involved driving over a house brick some lovely soul had left in the road. Left with vibration in the steering at 100kph I took the car into my local tyre place who confirmed that my rims were slightly buckled (very visible flat spot on each wheel drivers side  ).

All fine so far - $100/wheel for a reroll so they took one to start with and put space saver on. Drove a while and the AWD service light came on. Googled it and various sites said some peeps get this and some don't with the space saver.

Further into my trip home I realised that not only do I have a space saver on that is slightly (fraction according to websites) larger than usual - my aftermarket tyres (235/40/18 ) are actually slightly smaller than OEM. Drove the rest of the way %$#*ing myself about damaging the diff

My mate Travis (SIVART) runs a (excellent - personal recommendation) garage near my work In Braeside and may be able to loan me a set of same size wheels until my rerolls are sorted but on the off chance he can't (will know in the morning) do any of you peeps in the SE have a set of 16 or 18's with legal tread that I could loan for 5/6 days? Just thought it worth putting out there

Cheers :D

Gentlemen - thank you very much for your replies - hopefully have a set of evo 6 or 7 wheels on loan for a few days that will give me time to get both wheels rolled.

If any drama then you may hear from me

Thanks again :D

Well, on a set of Evo 7 rims as donated by SIVART. AWD service light has gone away so feeling much more relaxed drving. Also, nice seeing my car with a different set of shoes.
