Welcome to the 2016 NSW Meets & cruises thread hosted by myself Metalstrix a.k.a Tomo.
The purpose of this thread is to firstly thank you for joining & being part of the ClubCJ Sydney crew
and secondly, to get updated with any meets & cruises coming up within the Sydney City region!
We have a Facebook page for only the purpose of posting meets and photos - https://goo.gl/5tXyHT

*************************Next Cruise Information**************************
These cruises can range from:
Far north as Hornsby / Newcastle
Far south as Wollongong,
As far west as Penrith,
Far east as... Eastern suburbs on a rare occasion since the city is a pain to drive through.
Meets & Cruises are usually held every 2 weeks and the bigger events will be random depending on the occasion.
They will consist of a variety activities such as bowling activities, go-karts, laser tagging and various other activities to ensure we all have fun.
And of course, there will also be BBQs for various celebrations during the year.
If you’re eager to get out there and meet up during the week, this is definitely possible!
You can meet up with others whenever and wherever you like, as long as you let me know (so I can post it),
give ClubCJ a great name and let us know how much fun you’ve had!
That way we work together to get more people onboard and ensure your eagerness for driving is met
Weather
As we all know, Australian weather can be cruel to us at times and does affect
meets dramatically depending on the severity of it. Moderators in general
will always try to get a meet going. However, sometimes storms can affect us
badly on the roads and can be potentially dangerous. I know you're all good and
professional drivers but if it is at that point, we will unfortauntely have to cancel it.
Yes car park are options too and we can use them if we know some good ones .
Having your say:
As NSW Representative, I am happy to take on any (productive) suggestions that you have in mind.
Like any cruise locations, events and anything that could be beneficial or exciting for the Sydney Crew.
You can leave it in this thread or you can PM me and we’ll see what we can do.
Please understand that not all suggestions can be implemented, but if it’s feasible with enough interest, then we’ll do it! .
If it’s in relation to the website, leave it in the suggestions box for the club.

ClubCJ Member News
NSW ClubCJ News section (Trial)
This section is called the 'NSW ClubCJ News' section.
It's an ongoing CCJ News Journal that updates & announces latest/new news that
relates to CCJ events/news/happenings and/or it's members.
If you would like to announce anything, just send me a PM with the following details.
Then I will try write it in third person so provide details if you can.
Any negative posts will be ignored.

We welcome Bez3rk as NSW Moderator Assistant
I would like to Welcome Bez3rk onboard the NSW crew as my assistant / unofficial moderator.
He'll be helping out with meets that I won't be able to do when I'm busy.
T-shirts list in process
Just letting all the NSW crew know that I'm still compiling names and sizes onto an Excel document.
Won't be much longer until I submit it. Also, please submit your size and username so I can
get all the information I need.
ClubCJ T-shirts - http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=386710#386710
As part of the ClubCJ strategy, Sleeper has gone to great efforts to organise ClubCJ Merchandise.
The first merchandise available for Premium members (which hasn't been introduced before) is the
ClubCJ T-shirts!
The document has been sent to sleeper and he'll be getting the t-shirts together.
Hopefully I can get them to you soon.
Still interested? Down below are the sizes.
SAM-24A receives great news
Our ClubCj Veteran SAM-24A has received news that after months
and months of intense chemo, he has been cleared of Cancer and will
be on his way back to 100%
We wish him all the best and as soon as he reaches 100%
we'll get him back on the road in full health!
ClubCj Kicks 2016 off at ANZ Stadium
ClubCJ kicked off its first 2016 meet just on the ending of January at ANZ Stadium.
A storm had passed through Sydney in the afternoon and it was unsure whether it would return or not.
With pure luck, the storm did not passover the meet and instead, provided a light show!
'Approximately' 14-18 lancers turned up including a Gulf, Subbie WRX, Alvins famous
lowered Mitsubishi outlander, Seans lancer from ACT and Joel's Evolution sharing similar
coloured numberplates with his girlfriend Alanah.
A big mention to SAM-24A for having the strength (after a chemo session) to come out and join us and
LancerDarryl for travelling all the way from Newcastle to be part of the first meet of the year.
In the meet were 2 evolutions and a few Ralliarts.
Many funny things happened at this meet. Whilst SAM-24A and Darryl came right on-time the location
at 'Dawn Fraser Avenue', the rest of us were all around the corner. Apologies by Metalstrix for providing
the wrong street.
At 9:00pm, the half the group went to Westpoint Blacktown carpark to add a cruise element into the meet.
Corey (Evo owner) swapped wheels temporarily with Alvins stock wheels and surprisingly, worked
very well but looked unusually odd.
Seven had advised us through Facebook that upon leaving the meet, he got himself stuck in a storm
Thank you all for turning up and there will be more meets to come.

Constitution, Terms, Conditions and pointing the finger
**************************LAQ Likely Asked Questions***************************
"I'm quite new to the club and I haven't done anything to my car. Can I still come?"
OF COURSE you can! No judgement made against you whatsoever!
ClubCj accepts all lancers stock to fully modified. Stock lancers are completely fine
and infact just by coming to a meet will probably
get you to start modding anyways! Just come and don't feel bad!
"What kind of people am I going to meet?"
You will be quite surprised with the range of people you'll
meet at these meets. We have University students, managers, emergency services, mechanics
and Musicians ranging from the age of 16 to people in their 60s! So you'll meet plenty
of nice people. L platers are even part of this group!
"I'm worried that people may not speak to me when I arrive"
Yeah it sometimes feels like this. If you feel that way, just come to myself (Metalstrix) or
the organiser of the meet and we'll happily introduce you to people. It only takes one person
to get involved. So don't be nervous. Everyone around you at the meet is nervous.
"Am I expected to hoon or be irresponsible?"
Strictly NO hooning. Generally in this club, you can get in trouble if you
perform any acts of hooning. ClubCJ does not want to be known as a
"hoon" club. We are a social / community based club and we don't want
to lose any great people we meet. Please remember, everyone is responsible for their own driving and actions.
"Do I have to bring any money?"
Generally, have money on you. But the only time you'll need money is when
you go filling your petrol tank up and paying for any activities that the events may have.
I can't attend every single meet since I have work, family, girlfriend/boyfriend, DJ, Xbox, PS4, PC, social, mechanic etc commitments. Will I get in trouble for not turning up?
As part of my nomination for NSW rep, I said that you can turn up to a
meet at your own best convenience. You will not be judged, pressured,
or excluded because you do not turn up to a meet. We all have our
commitments and you have every right to commit to them.
*Insert Joke*
The only time that you 'may' get in trouble, is if you say "I'm too lazy"
"There are other lancer groups in Australia. Why should I be part of ClubCJ?"
ClubCJ was the first and original Mitsubishi Lancer CJ club back from 2008. The advantages
that ClubCj has over other clubs is that, we have a constitution to manage our members
efficiently e.g the hooning rules. We also have finance capabilities. An actual bank with real money
from premium members that provides benefits. Benefits include getting free food at BBQs
and also funding for National meets depending. So for you, it's free food and drinks
(When you're a member.) Obviously this website is another advantage as we have more information
than any other CJ based clubs. And also, we have CJ Lancer veterans who will be able to help you
at all times.
"I've heard rumours"
I will address this as best possible and is a disclaimer for myself.
ClubCj runs elections. Every year there's a new moderator for these meets. (Unless re-elected)
Not everyone will be happy and people will get upset or angry about who wins.
Popular vote is the only way to run the club so the blame is not put on the higher people.
Through your ClubCJ journey you will hear negative rumours and other "indecent" things.
Not so much from our own members, but external group(s).
As much as I want to respond to "exaggerated" claims, I'm more focused on making members
happy and making a good name for ClubCJ which is my original goal. If you hear rumours
and want an answer, I will only speak in person about it and not online.
Please avoid making judgements and come out to meets and enjoy yourself.
That's all the NSW moderator asks of you.
"I use to be part of ClubCJ, but now I have a newer car. Can I still come?"
Yes you can. Under the condition that you do not attend a meet to either
taunt, degrade, insult an individual or the whole CLUBCJ group for whatever reason. By coming to the meets you will agree to this.
These are social events and this will not be tolerated. Anyone who fails to
agree to the general terms and conditions will be facing a ban.
**************************Terms and Conditions***************************
Just some simple and common sense based rules just so that everyone is aware.
By coming to the ClubCj NSW crew meets you will:
1. Not engage, commit, action or promote any form hooning such as burnouts, racing and/or donuts in a public area (Unless it’s in a legallly controlled environment).
Such behaviour will result in either forum warnings, suspension or ban based on committee votes.
- Revving your vehicle is permitted, but please avoid doing this in quiet neighbourhoods and only in isolated areas.
2. Understand that everyone is responsible for their own driving and their vehicle is at risk from not only the general public, but also by fellow members.
- Clubcj does not take responsibility for any accidents or inappropriate behaviour by its members and will not be part of any insurance claims etc.
- When attending cruises, we advise that you stay a minimum 1 and a half car lengths behind your fellow lancer friends to avoid unexpected collisions.
- Tailgating is strongly prohibited on cruises. For your safety and your car.
3. Not instigate any form of bullying. Bullying includes various situations such as:
- Talking negatively about one member to multiple people
- Degrading of an individual’s vehicles (Respect peoples ideas)
- Verbal bullying such as direct AND indirect insults (Innuendos)
- Racism is obviously not permitted (unless both parties are aware of the joke)
- Spreading rumours and encouraging humiliation of multiple members
- It is strongly advised that if you feel like you are being bullied or feel like tension is starting, please contact myself or any moderator on the forum. The vision I have for the Sydney crew is to work together to have fun and meet people.
The rules above are mine in particular. But by constitution please review Mattigans post - http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=5909[/b]

Thanks Troy.
I remember 2-3 years ago, my first meet was only 4 people. Nek minute 15 became the norm. I hope I can repeat that process again.
And no worries SAM-24A. There's more to come
