So my question is how will they & coppers know if you've dropped it after 1st Aug?

"Honest, I bought it that way"

Unless they mean that all lowered suspension must be certified after August 1. Even if it was done 15 years ago

nothing concrete yet i think.. taken from JDMST forum..

I've just been on the phone to the RTA. Apparently this is the go

- There has been no official word (suprise suprise)
- The bloke I spoke to said that the paper has got it wrong
- At the moment they are looking at limiting how much a car can be raised, not lowered.
- Currently the existing 100mm ground clearance / 1/3 suspension travel is still in place
- Any changes would most likely affect any new installations i.e. anyone with changes done befoe August 1st would be ok

This is just what the bloke has told me.

FFS WTF OMG..................................................................... If this is real then I don't give a sht anymore. Lowering your car does not make you;

1. Speed
2. Street Race
3. Crash and die (unless you chop springs or use king super lows :P)
4. Burnout
5. Noise pollution
6. Anything else that they can pull out of there arse

Yes if its so low that you take a 2k detour then go over 1 speed hump then there is something wrong, but for the random person that wants to lower it 1.5" for a better look/handling I'm not paying like $500 to get it engineered.

QUOTE
“It can affect handling, braking and safety features such as electronic stability control,” said Mr Daley.

“It can also change the position of vital impact-absorbing sections of a car, designed to reduce the severity of a crash.

Raising a vehicle’s suspension can also reduce the driver’s ability to see pedestrians and cyclists, and higher headlights can startle other road users.”
/QUOTE

These people need to man the fck up

Lots of silly new laws are popping up around the place, soon it will probably be illegal to have a spoiler/wing on your car..

It already is. Depending on the design and shape of it.

Myself, I'd question the legality of the Evo IX for CJ spoiler like the one fitted to Infinite's car.

What the law concerns is the sharpness of the corners, radius of the edges etc. And to me, there is a large sharp looking corner on that design spoiler :S

Had a massive tyrade then net disconnected so here goes again *deep breathe*
Good to here this is not confirmed as it is absolutely crap, i think it would not last as it will be to hard to enforce plus this coming into effect would destroy aftermarket industries that specialies in suspension ie. Pedders, ARB, DMS and many more, as previously mentioned there reasons for doing it are absolutely crap, i call massive bullsh!t on this, bullsh!t

Apparently this new law was dropped a day or two before it was to be implemented from what lay-eye tells me. Other wise I am stuffed because my car is built after the implementation date.
