Not wanting to be outdone by the Brits, Japan's own tuners have come up with their own 360 Spec Evo X:

Among other improvements, the tuning crew at Monster modified the EVO X's 2.0-liter turbocharged engine boosting output to 360HP and 50kgm of torque. Monster offers two variants of the 360 SPEC, with the GSR-based model priced at 4.5 million Yen ($46k) and the GSR Premium-based car at 5.3 million Yen ($54k).

Japan always has the tuning houses on the ball... it's a given! As far back as I can remember, Hyperrev and LancerEvo magazines have had heaps of examples.

Wow??

Can we import these cars over?? Since they are all right hand drive just gotta pay for the import cost???

What would you say 56 grand for that lets chuck in 7 grand for the importing and tax all up 63 grand drive away??? Can they be registered on road tho??

No, the rule is you can't import a car that is already locally delivered. The evo x is locally delivered so we miss out. Its the governments decision on emissions as to the reason why we don't have this. (The 360) The exception in the last year was the new GT-R. Once place in australia were able to get a compliance plate for 15 cars to be imported before April 1 when the car would be locally delivered. From now on, you can't import a GT-R....just have to wait til a rich pr*ck gets tired of playing with it and wants to cast it off!!

I think the new GT-R is in a league of it's own- it is actually a serious cost burden on the owner just for basic maintenance and upkeep despite the very low price tag relative to it's competitors. I doubt it will ever reach R32-R34 status whereby everyday blokes can pick it up 2nd hand and do all the maintenance/mods themselves. Or, at least not for a very very very long time.

You arent wrong JaCe, this is no joke but from Nissan 1L of genuine transmission oil will set you back a smooth 1 grand, i thought my boss was pulling my leg but no i rang Nissan and almost fainted when they parts guy told me.

Not to mention the cost of a Transaxle replacement when you've blown it after 50 "Launch Controlled" launches.

Nissan have relaxed a few areas of servicing - now every 7500 instead of 5000kms, and also the transmission oil is now $850.....Geez, aren't they the discount specialists!!!! How many people have saved the $150k, cleaned out their bank account only to realise they had to spend so much to keep this thing running and in warranty. Some wouldn't be able to afford it. I wouldn't be buying a second hand one of these from someone like this.

i agree. with a retail of 147k plus 10-15k per year in servicing the gtr is just too expensive to own for the average enthusiast. the fact that you have to agree to only let nissan service it as part of your buying contract is a little off putting as well.
