Denzza's Evo X Cams into a N/A 4B11 Thread.

As some of you know or dont know. But ive heard from a few members that Evo X cams are a straight fit into our N/A 4B11 engines.

Since we all know in the U.S, they do everything to their cars! And they have done the R&D into this project!

Im not sure if anyone has done this in Australia :/ So i have contacted Adam (Beeble) about this. And he is more then happy to help me with this!

PRICING:

Evo X cams go from $60-100. Which is really cheap!

Since noone has done it in Australia, Beeble and will be putting the cams in.
Also since this is new to him and the timing and everything will be way different. He needs time to figure out what works best!

So we will be booking a Dyno for a few hours. Thanks to Beeble. And he will work his magic!

For me, its going to be expensive. But since Beeble knows the best for our Lancers in Melbourne , not sure about others but Adam is very helpful! I will trust him with my baby haha

I will be looking around $400 for dyno hire and his time. Which i am more then happy to pay for :)

Performance: People in USA claim that have gained 15-25 HP, which is 11-18 KWS. Ill be more then happy with these gains!
But, ive already got my car tuned with Intake and Exhaust!

Now we will be tuning it with new 4-2-1 Supercircuit headers and the Evo X cams. So not sure how much exactly the gains will be.

Also in USA, they claim to be pushing 170 HP at the wheels with stock exhaust and expect higher numbers with an exhaust system.

170HP = 126.7 Kws!

Thats a really good figure, but im not setting my expectations that high.
I will be happy with anything around the 120Kw mark at the wheels :)

If this all works out great! Maybe this could be the next MOD for our 4B11 engines :)

I will be taking photos and updating this frequently for you guys!
Everything we do on the dyno will be recorded.

Project starts as soon as i receive my Evo X cams.

haha thanks man! but i think its a bit harder for your car again :(
You have a 4B12 engine. Evo X's are 4B11T. So not sure on the 2.4 litre engines. But i will have to contact the people in the US for the 2.4 :)

US power figures you need to "adjust" , just so you know.
they use dynojet dynos... they typically read 13-15% higher than the RTR dyno (and many other aussie dynos)

so 170whp in dynojet speak is more like 150whp on the dyno here.
about 110kw atw on the RTR dyno

I like to think that a tuned 2.0 NA is coming close to 95, maybe even 100kw at the wheels.
so shooting for a 10kw gain I guess
We're going to use the dyno to try and get a real sense of what the true gains are - using Virtual Dyno and road logging the variables are just too great to see positive gains without "scientific error" confounding the results.
Runs on the NA cars vary by more than 10kw often times.

Thanks for that Adam :)

bear in mind also that a stock Ralliart dynos at 130-135kw
so getting that sort of power from a 2.0 NA Lancer is up there!

I live in Melbourne too and want to get mine tuned as I have a exhaust and intake done but I rang up everyone and they said they don’t do my car. Where did you get yours done?

Make it real easy on yourself
Get a genuine tactrix open port 2

eBay item 262923200813
About $300
Get ECUflash software $25US
It's yours for life
Then can reflash the ecu and ETACS box till the cows come home
Don't ever buy the China clones of tactrix for under $280 as they are rubbish and a great way to kill your ECU
