Evo 10 write off crash (AYC FAULT?)
Moderators: Moderators, Senior Moderators
I'm no expert on any of this and have no experience, but doesn't it seem a bit strange/wrong if the insurance company is trying to sell the car before it has been investigated/examined by the investigator?
MAP EF2 turbo , DW65 fuel pump, ID1000 injectors, EvoX FMIC, UR dump pipe, 100 cell cat, CP-E Exhaust, aFe air filter...and mud flaps!
If the client has lodged a claim and the car has been assessed and determined a write off they are well within their rights to sell the salvage (as per the insurers PDS). Some insurers offer 'salvage rights', some dont, suggest reading your PDS to find out if yours does
As mentioned there is an investigation process with single vehicle accidents to determine if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or any other fraudulent behaviour
So basically until Scott assists the insurer with the investigation process (no doubt he has nothing to hide) his pay out will be delayed

LOL take that attitude if you want but its not going to get you anywhere, he's eventually going to have to talk to an assessor/investigator if he wants a pay out. The assessor will probably obtain a copy of the police report anyways but they still need to interview Scott
End of the day insurance companies dont and wont open the wallets to the tune of $30-40K without due process, it has nothing to do with getting out of claims > they need to ensure they are not funding fraudulent activity

"Salvage rights" I can only think of a handful of insurance companies that offer this option.
And Scott did say a very well known company that a lot of people use.
Should be able to narrow it down to which insurance companies fit this citeria
Good luck with ur battle at court Scott hope to hear good news
And then name and shame the bastards

Well all I can say from this is I wish you all the best and if you have already spoken with a solicitor you will probably be well aware of this, don't do anything in public eye which might compromise an ongoing injuries claim they are ruthless bastards. Cant wait until you get your result and you stick it to the man.
