I'm sure most of you have heard of
Japanparts.com. They retail JDM products to the world. There are some parts that our sponsor Preston Motors Ralliart cannot bring in for us so you'd have to look to these guys to do it.
With recent rises in the A$ and drops in the JP¥, it may be a good time in bringing in stuff from them on a group ship basis. There's an A$1000 limit for import tax free importing (they will NOT rebadge the pricing). I think an order of up to A$945 is prudent so we can allow for FOREX changes and so please get on board if you want to make it on this first shipment.
The parts list for our vehicle is
here.
1st Shipment (sub total = A$577.28 ):
ofey VIC :
AUTO PREVENT MIRROR = A$256.00
JMI VIC :
Galant Fortis Scuff Plates = A$176.64 &
SPORTS AIR FILTER = A$144.64 *Preston Motors Ralliart price is A$180.00*
I would suggest all ES owners who don't have a lid for your center console box to consider:
74066 LID, FLOOR CONSOLE = A$121.60
Much cheaper than Preston's price and I suspect it fits your square center console perfectly though I won't know how it attaches, still that can be adapted.

Hey ofey, with the center console, i see there is like a hole for the clip to go in on the bottom of the console. Is that part of the console included in the price or is it just the lid iteslf?

Oooohhh I'd love those Galant Fortis Scuff Plates to match my Galant Fortis badge, for the true JDM look.
But I already have the ADM Lancer ones and the missus wouldn't let m e change them
I'll try to work on her

How hard is it to remove and fix the Galant Fortis badging Sir-Vrx?
I am thinking of fixing that badging to match the scuff plate.
I would have gone for the Lancer wording scuff plates but it isnt as nice.

Jamie, you virtually just need to heat up the glue with a hairdryer or something and pry it off slowly with a blunt knife. Simple as that =)

I think it darkens the headlights of someone behind you so you dont get blinded or stunned by the headlights behind you

De-Badging is easy. Just like Tadzorz said. But use dental floss or fishing line, not a knife!! I also had a small and thin plastic scraper thingo which helped.
As far as I know I have the only Galant Fortis badged car in Australia

I might consider the centre console depending on how it will fit with the ES

I would kill for a centre console assuming it can fit.
I've heard of 2 different centre consoles, one which is the VR/X replacement but requires you to replace a significant amount of parts. Then I've heard 'rumours' of one that snaps on to existing fittings in the ES but I've never seen it or heard of anyone who has used it.
The price is fine, it's more a matter of if it will fit or not. If so I think there would be some very eager ES owners lining up to buy it!
Here's the blown up diagram for it:
The diagram is the same for both options on the site, not very clear

I think we have to buy the cup holder cover part aswell. I was on japan parts before and it looked like the little clip holder on the base of the console was attacted to the cupholder part, not the hole that we have..
If that makes sense.

I see what you mean. Not entirely sure how it works though.
If you look at the photo though (not the diagram I posted) it seems to just snap on to the existing fittings, that's wishful thinking though..

Yeah that whole thing has to be replaced...(kick/side pannels) Those hinges would hang behind the hole meaning that the whole side of the thing would have to be replaced.
JazzyB is making a custom center console. Hopefully it will be done by friday, im meeting up with him then for a quick meet and i might be able to check it out
