In the coming year, we should be looking to start up Group Buys again to leverage on our combined purchasing power.

I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on In-Car Dash Cams for accident records.

I'm thinking it would make a great first GB for 2013.

Yep, I would be interested, but would like to know more about them, so i can't suggest any model that would be better than another

I'd be interested depending on the model.

I have a cheap model at the moment but would like something that's better quality.

The one I have been looking at is http://www.blackvue.co.uk/

It is quite expensive but it's extremely good quality.

great idea ofey
im very interested in getting one of these. i have seen a few around but cos they r new the people who r selling them dont know much about em.
theres ones u can get that record both inside and outside of the car. they have a split screen which shows up visualy whats going on out and inside. or u can get ones that just do outside. and then some do video out side and voice on the inside.
as erin said a couple of sa members have the gator ones, paid like $80 from autobarn or some auto shop.
the thing im interested in is ones that continue to record while the car isnt going. the ones i have seen run off the cigaret lighter, so would they only be working while the car is running?
and is it easy enough to set 2 up in ya car, one for front and one for behind-to get those stupid people who reverse into my car in carparks while im out shopping :(

I would definitely be interested in this, I've been meaning to get one for a while and a group buy would be a great idea.

I can second the Blackvue device, that would be your best option. It only retails for $369, so it's pretty cheap as it is

Sounds like a great idea. Nice way to start 2013, with safety in mind. So many different models, shapes and makes can be found. Sadly I wont be able to participate (though depends, hehe), as I was given one for Christmas. It is the Navig[8]r crash cam hd, which can be bought from Big W. Working as it should, but I'm finding a little big underneath my rear view mirror. Though, I wish it had an accelerometer or gps to show my speed and position, instead of just a time stamp. Though, I do like its motion detector and its ability to record either inside or outside. But I just cant get over its size. I cant complain much, since it was a gift (lol). Either case, I'll be watching out for what ever unfolds. Strangely I'm already excited (lol). Happy New Year everyone!! ^_^
