check my previous posts...ofey i have asked twice ...whats going on with NSW, can we have the tracking details.... please

We've spent the best part of this day sorting out the problems with Nicho's and aussie027's lip problems. I've no idea what the number is. I'll ask rick when I manage to get him on the phone. You should know me better than that. Whenever I have info, I post it promptly and without delay. I'm sorry to have pissed you off... .

ofey i am not upset at all buddy it was a bit of a joke to get your attention because i had asked twice, davee asked and bandit asked check back a couple of pages.....it was like you were ignoring us....
i talked to you the other day and told me NSW was on its way...
all me and the boys in NSW wanted was the tracking info that you seemed to have up straight away for the melbourne boys.( we are jealous)

you know we like to be looked after up here buddy.

& ofey you know i am in your corner.!

I just went outside and had a good look at mine against the car.. it's not too bad... fitment looks like its pretty straight forward. the top bit sticks onto the bottom part of the grill with 3M tape, and there are 3 flappy bits on each side on the bottom which I assume you use to drill and attach onto the airdams. The only thing im not compeltely happy about is the finish and colour, so i might have a go with spraying it myself if i can find the time.

MOUNTING SCREW QUESTIONS

Postby aussie027 » Thu May 07, 2009 2:51 pm

My original one was a good fit, I hope the new one will be too, will have to wait til next week to see.

Am blacking out my front bumper and grille with Plasti Dip as we speak and it would have been nice to get it fitted today too.

MOUNTING SCREW QUESTIONS

I bought some 8G x 25mm button headed self tapping screws to mount this mainly due to the very flat heads as I am planning on putting 2-3 screws in the top lip where it sits on the rim at bottom of the intake grill area as well as the 2 on the bottom into the horns.
I didnrt want to use any messy silicone glues etc.

The centre lip is very light just over a kg so no weight issues but it will have to be secure and able to take a knock in case you nudge a parking kerb or hit something on the road.

MY Q is, how well will these screws ,or any for that matter, work in the thin plastic the horns/bumper is made of as there is no thickness of material or nut plates of course to take the thread???
The horns are very thin.

The hole will only be approx 3mm diameter for this size screw. I could get a bigger 10G for the bottom where the heads cannot be seen.

Any ideas??? Has anybody done this kinda mod before???

I just hope to have at least ONE unbiased response that's going to say the lip is reasonably good. Everyone seems to be dissing it and some even want to pull out before seeing it based on what's been said on this thread.

No wonder no one's gone for the eye lids!

Ozie said it was good :P

I will give my view of it tonight when I get it in my hot little hands. Hopefully have enough time to fit it before heading out for a cruise to the gong with a few of the MLGA guys!
