New Holden Barina vs CJ Lancer

Is it just me or do others think that the front of the new Holden Barina front has more than a passing similarity to our Lancers?
What's that old saying - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

It is but the car is just a chevrolet aveo/sonic
And looking at other chevrolet's, all their family cars look kinda like that
they all have the split grille.
Although it certainly looks just like a lancer...
I'm tired of all the rebadged cars around today... Why can't they change the panelling at least...
At least it looks good.

I realise it is a rebadged Chev/Daewoo/whatever, but the distinctive split radiator/intake grille, plus the headlight shape and design, plus the raised bonnet sections above the headlights are very CJ. The Holden badged version moreso as they have placed the Lion logo where our Diamond is in the centre of the top grille....
It ain't ugly I will agree....! (although the back end missed out on any real update anmd still looks like the old one).

etc
The headlights on the aveo are quite lancery though. At least the indicators are on the outside.
I think a lot of headlights look like that now though, because it looks good and is still cheap to make.
And notice the bonnet lines.
None of the features are exclusive to the lancer, but as a whole it definately is a 'baby lancer' to my eyes at least
And that colt is UGLY. The colt should be the aveo and the barina can be the colt

The Colt got some parts from the Challenger/Triton bin and some from the Lancer/ASX/Outlander bin!

The Colt is damn ugly and should just go IN the bin if you ask me
The new 5 door Barina is actually $2000 more than the old 5 door. It also has bluetooth and a heap of other wonderful things.

For the money that Barina is pretty good value.
When the lease is up on the focus, I will most likely look for a small car such as a getz or barina for the freeway commute... The barina would be close to the top of the list at the moment

Theres this guy who cops so much shit for driving a cruze..let alone a barina. The only way you'll catch me downsizing is to a motorbike.

Personally I don't give a rats what people think of what I drive... Like the guy that was having a chuckle hopping into his old crappy commodore while I was driving our paint faded excel...
Chances are he didn't have anything else in his driveway
I do 1000kms a week... looking for something more efficient as my daily. Can drive my turbo car, or the escort I am restoring on the weekend

It would all depend on how much of a bagging he would get from his mates though...
