Yes, yes, it's 1st April (april fools), but this is no joke, k?

If you notice any problems with particular browsers, let me know in this thread. State your browser type and what problem you had (images no showing, etc). some older browsers will not like the changes I've made as they do not know how to handle compressed data.

I've made some changes on the backend to help in alleviating the slows we've been see lately and also help you too!

I've enabled "on the fly" compression, so basically the amount of data between the server and your PC is less. Why is this good? 'cause it's gonna take less time to get the page and you also chew through less data for your ISP's monthly quota/limits, it also helps mobile users! :D

I've done some quick tests and all seems to be working fine with IE and firefox and seeing around 86% saving in bandwidth.

Good Work Pete.

What ever you do, make sure you show Mattigins when he returns from the US.

I'm not as cluey as most when it comes to these server, phb's whatever adjustment.
But it certainly seems to have improved things on here.

For a long while (4-6 weeks ago) this site was crashing more often than a Paper Airplane. :shock:

Sam :wink:

Firstly ... Well done Pete ... Going good now ...

I can tell it's faster, & I use " Google Chrome " myself ... So thanks for the faster ClubCJ ... :D Cheers.!

But, I don't know if it's related, but I find the CCJ page not loading correctly for me on Chrome.? ( Tho it used too.? )

===========================================================================================

================= Internet Explorer 8 ===================== Google Chrome: 10.0.648.204 (Official Build 79063) ====

Image --> Image

============ This one is presented correctly =================== This one has the " Squashed Cells " to the right.? ======

Is there any way we can fix this.? - Or is this something in the setings within Chrome.? - I have touched nothing, it just went this way.?

I'll keep an eye out, tho vi93r is using a release candidate.
As for sleeper's issue, I'll put it down too old person's syndrome. :P

86MIM is using Chrome as noted earlier and she's not mentioned anything odd. Try clearing your browser cache and re-test. Else try a "force refresh" - in IE it's shift and the F5 key, no idea what it is in Chrome. :(

Fine with Chrome here too.

A couple of weeks ago I had a problem where it would log me out everytime I refreshed, and wouldn't let me post. Even after the usual cache flushes etc.

I haven't had a problem recently though, and now it is running nice and fast :D

Lethal_1 that problem has been around forever, pretty sure its not browser related or related to this update.

I think I remembe0 someone saying its due to certain screen resolutions? It only happens to me occasionally, and only on my laptop.

However if its never happened to you before I guess that is noteworthy.

I'm so very happy with the performance of this site now. Nothing is lagging for me. Reloading the page Shift + Click refresh is responsive and I don't have much lag.

What a difference you've made Pete!
