This is a feature Mistu put on the MY11 model of lancers, anything made before October 2010 will not have it.

Someone in Melbourne needs to have a MY11 I can strip to look at so I can figure out the wiring for this for everyone else.

It could well be implemented by ETACS but I suspect we can get something like that going by using the dome light circuit of the car to trigger a relay perhaps to turn on some lights.

Just like the blue grill glow on my car.

Yeah I've been thinking about this to get my DRLs to come on when I unlock the car. I don't think it'd be too hard. Just a wire running from the dome light down to the DRL circuit I have with a diode to stop the DRL circuit powering the dome light. Just haven't gotten around to playing with it yet :)

I suspect a relay would be a far better way than a diode. Use the dome light to trigger the relay. Only one way then. No worries about the opposite occurring.

That'd work too :) I was just thinking if you didn't use a relay, you'd get the nice fade in/fade out effect?

You could always wire in a capacitor into the circuit to simulate that?

i bought something very similar a couple of years ago from dick smith and you just wire it up to the DRLS. Heaps easier because you arent mucking around with wiring harnesses inside of the vehicle.

Would still be hard for me as the Evo's setup is different. I do need to look at your fuse boxes.

Ever want to collect your Whiteline stuff?

Maybe not exactly the same thing but same basic principle i think... I'm looking to wire up my angel eyes so they come on and off with the domelight.
I've already tapped into the domelight circuit to power a led strip in my grill and it works perfectly, fades in and out along with the interior lights.
Something though tells me theres a limit to how many lights i can splice directly into the domelight circuit which is where using the relay would come in handy to have a separate power source direct to the battery and only use the domelight to trigger the relay?
Sounds like the relay option though is either on or off with no fade or would the relay flick on/off as the domelight voltage dropped?
Does anyone know if this is right or should i expect alot of smoke and burnt out led's this weekend!
