Hey guys,
unfortunately over Christmas I had a prang and now the VRX requires a new front bumper.
Damage to the other car... sweet fu*k all (a broken indicator lens). The black paint is from my car, it just flaked and splintered.
All in all I was bloody lucky that the bumper took all the damage.
I was going to go down the option of putting a Ralliart bumper on the car but all the quotes I can get so far are $1,500 NZD price difference between the VRX and Ralliart bumper, even though if I brought one direct from Mitsubishi it is only a $260 price difference.
As much as I want a RA bumper, I'm just gonna get a replacement VRX bumper.

I broke my VRX :(

Take it to a panel beater and have them quote you..
how did this happen?
Have a look at the second pic, the bumper is actually split & cracked.

I was at a T intersection, I pulled forward a little bit as there was a truck turning that was blocking the on coming traffic - as I did I noticed the ute overtake the truck, so I stopped and reversed back behind the painted give way lines.
The guy in the ute got caught by surprise slammed on the anchors. His ute then slid off the road and into my car where I was parked (behind the give way lines).
So a right pain in the arse as by the road rules I will be at fault, but the guy also had plenty of time to come off his brakes and continue past. If his car had not slid to the left, out of the lane of traffic and off the road, then he would have just driven past honkey dorey. There was plenty of room to do so, there was even a wide median lane if he felt he had to swerve to avoid me.
Being in a 100kph zone and pissing down with rain did not help. No skid marks either, so it's his word against mine and the 3 other passengers in my car.
