Hi Guys,

I just found these links showing a detailed concept proposal pic and some power figures.--

Also here, see the post by Razor GTR about 2/3 down the page, the 1st pic after the RA concept car, another possibility-

Looks pretty cool but I suspect this is just an artist rendering on speculation as opposed to anything remotely confirmed. Looks very overtly "pumped up" in a similar way to how Sube's 2011 WRX has obviously flared guards.

Mitsubishi have traditionally kept the same base chassis design over 3 generations of the Evolution, so I would be surprised if they steered to far away from the X body.
Just look at past evos... 1-3, 4-6, 7-9.

I suspect that the XI will look (from the exterior) like an X with a redesigned body kit & new wheels.

I quite like it. Although I dont think hatch back is where these cars need to be, just looking at the fact Subaru have now put big $ into revamping their lineup and changing the STI to sedan tells me everything.

why do car companies bother making a concept car if the ones that they actually make look nothing like it.

I tend to agree Blake, I would prefer to see a more 'realistic' car loaded with their concept crap. I agree with Big_d I think we will be seeing a remoulded X Mitsu are not going to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet, they have spent millions on the X base so they will milk it for all it is worth.

simple, It's because they don't!

It's not a concept car, it's a rendering that's been doing the rounds for a while, It's NOT REAL!

That image surfaced about 8 months ago or more and it didnt come from Mitsubishi. At this stage there are no plans for an Evo XI.

i was talking in general, not that specific one. most actual made concept cars are never the end product. so why do they make them.

To tell you the truth I don't think they will do an evolution XII as the lancer is becoming too big. Someone said to me that they gradually make the car bigger with every remake until they decide to bring in a replacement line.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

Wow,
I didnt mean to stir up a hornets nest, sorry I posted it.

The dates on the articles are July and Aug so I thought the info was fairly new, Ive never seen the blue rendering before.

If they decide to build it by 2013 it may just be new body panels over the existing CJ chassis design. Then again there may never be an Evo XI at all either.

hrrmm two thing i can notice that seem really similar to Mazda and Honda.

im refering to the red concept drawing of the xi.

1. the front look very similar to a mazda 6 or 3 ( like mentioned above)
2. the rear to me closely resembles Honda Type-R civic
