A bit of damage...

Recently my Lancer came into a bit of damage while going through some road works. It sounds really stupid but it was night and i was going through some road works. There was little light and no one directing traffic. The cones lead you into the oncoming lane going into a T Intersection like so
As you can see just off centre in that lane is an island. on that island is a keep left sign. I dont know how i didnt see it, it must have been in my A-Pillar or something but as soon as i started taking that bend, i saw it but it was too late. BANG!
shattered the front bumper and put a dent in my hood
I parked my car down the next street and much to my surprise, when the traffic cop walked around the corner to meet me he pointed his finger at me and said "I know you". Turns out it was Simon, the cop who gave me a ticket for tailgating causing me to go on good behaviour and who since always seems to be around. He had a good laugh at the situation before taking down my details and letting me go, and not a moment too soon. It was 10:55 and i had 5 minutes to curfew.
So i hurried off home as quick as legally possible (my bumper scraping along the ground in the process)
I have since purchased a new bumper from Mitsubishi. When i rang up to get a quote on it they said it would be $590 unpainted. I decided to go for it and when i picked it up, it was factory painted wicked white! lucky!
i got some mates to help me install it and added a little something while i had the bumper off.
note the protective bar
and the end result
I have also ordered some parts from ARS Bodykits. An Evo nose cone, evo side vents and this set of eyelids
IMO the blue glow coming through the vents in the nose cone will look mad. I always take damage as a chance to upgrade. why only spend money getting it to look the way it did? might as well beef it up a bit
im also going to redo the chrome grill surround, and paint my engine cover blue with silver logo and MIVEC symbol.
next step though is to get the dent out of the hood. the paint is cracked pretty good so it will need a respray.
