Looking at a CJ Lancer

Hi,

I've searched but it doesn't seem to be working just says page cannot be displayed.

I've got a Corolla Sportivo and am looking to upgrade to a CJ Lancer.

Im looking at a ES or Activ in manual I don't think the budget will strech to a VR.

I've read through the thread for the parts from ofey and looks as though it will be better to pickup the ES and add the mods I want.

Just wanted opinions from people to if its worth the extra for the Activ over the ES?

I waited for the Activ, things like side skirts, blue tooth, tint, leather steering wheel etc are all great options, and at the moment the activ is pennies away from the es. Just my opinion

Yeah mate if you can still get an active I would grab one over the ES with the extra kit they come with.

Jamie if you can do all the mods yourself then the ES is a better and cheaper option.

Tryg is a execllent example. His ES is specked higher then a VRX, for less money.

If you work out how you want your car to look and do the sums, it will make more sence.

I dont like the wheels on either so I would replace, side skirts and front air dams are cheap from X-factor deseign. If you are not handy though then the active may be a better option.

Just a few things to think about when you buy it... are you getting these extra features that your just going to change.

Auto lights/wipers I didn't care about, and the upgraded sound system I knew I was gona rip out anyways, so I brought the ES.

no point paying for rims and sound system that just going to be changed.

WOW the forums on the ball. I wasn't expecting a reply until at least tonight.

Wheels - eventually want to get VRX
Tints - Can get done myself
Audio Controls - Cheap enough & from what I read cables are ready to go

Which leaves bluetooth, leather steering wheel & body kit.

I'll have a few more questions later on just to help clear questions I have up.

Ok now im finally home I have a bit of time to write a proper post.

Im buying because I want something brand new and I can be the first to let a fart rip in the drivers seat.

Im not fussed on the options of the VR (Auto Headlights, Wipers & Climate Control)

Im trying to keep it under $21,000 so the ACTIV will be a push but I need to work out if it's really worth it.

From what i've read this is what i will want to do to it.

-Add tweeters or add an amp under the seat & upgrade speakers (no sub)
-New wheels
-Sideskirts & Spoiler
-Front to look like this http://clubcj.net/garage.php?mode=view_gallery_item&type=garage_gallery&image_id=2041
-Tinted windows
-Audio Controls if i get the ES
-RPW ECU Flash

There are some other things but thats what I want to do.

I've also got the question of paint.
Which colour of the lancers shows less swirls, scratches?
Im looking towards the blue

Bit of an update....

Went to Lidcombe & Burwood Mitsubishi dealers.
Spent 20mins at Lidcombe no one was in sight and no one came out of the office both myself and a couple who were looking at an outlander left.

Off to Burwood, fairly unhelpful there. They gave me a price of $21,990 + $450 driveaway on an Activ sent him an email yesterday with a couple of adds of Activ's with pear/metallic paint for $21,990 or less he basically told me to go to another dealer.

Service has been pretty poor with Mitsubishi, im hoping this is due to them both being small dealers.
Oh well I at least got to test drive an ES, drove very well was very impressed with the down low power compared to the Sportivo.

Can anyone recommend a decent dealer? Im in Strathfield NSW.

Its too bad the guy who sold me my lancer left the parramatta dealership (think he may have got fired). I got a VR manual with 60km for 16000 trade in (trade in was an 02 commodore with 120000km, they originally offered 4k for it). Can always try parra again if they have done that before, and the one at liverpool (mcgrath i think) sold my dad a brand new vrx for 30k flat.

Can you make it to that Pennant Hills place? General consensus seems to be that they're good with regards to pricing.

I bought mine at McGrath Liverpool, and I have to say that the service so far has been alright. Their pricing is particularly low, but I don't think it'll be the upper end of the spectrum either. Have yet to have my first 3month/1500km yet, but I don't expect any problems.
