Selling car without roadworthy?

Would it be worth even trying to do this with a ES Lancer, 2008 model? It needs new tires (no biggie) but I wont pass an exhaust test, and even tho I have the old pipe, its been cut just after the cat so I have no idea how re-welding would go.

I'm hoping to get 16,000 to 17,000 for it, but will prolly suffer without a RWC?

Here in QLD it is illegal to even advertise a car for sale without a RWC. Pretty sure most states are the same.

And to do the registration name change you will require a RWC in any state.

You may need to check with VicRoads mate.

I didn't get a roadworthy when selling the soarer...
Its not compulsory unless something has changed in the last year.

Only issue is that if its unregistered it will have to be roadworthy before they can do it.

Jamie,

yes it is possible to sell the car without a RWC here in vic, however, many people will be hesitant to buy, and others will low ball you.

However, you'd probably also have to do some creative selling ;) Come up with a reasonable excuse to get a broader market :)
