Hi guys, my CL Lancer is due for it's 15K service and I was quoted $340 from my local dealer. That sounds expensive. Is it?

Just rang the local dealer here as my car is up to about 13,500km and their price is $261 - that's for a manual 2.4L VRX. She did ask what model the car was and if it was auto or manual. Maybe auto cost more??

CVT needs gearbox fluid replacement at some stage I think...? Don't know when though.
And its the most expensive liquid known to man.
$340 does sound a bit expensive...
I think mine are meant to be $320 (manual) so not much better.

I've been told it will be approximately $300 for my 15K service.....
Am not looking forward to that in 4-ish months/3500kms to go...
Unlike the new models i.e. Activ with "capped" servicing... If they can do it for those, they should do it for the rest of us... *sigh*

Had my 15k service done at my local dealer a couple of weeks ago. Cost me $152.35
I provided my own oil though. The oil they use (Castrol FMX) doesn't meet the specs noted in the owners manual

Yes it is. Rip off would be more precise. It's just an oil and filter change and a full check over the car's critical systems. As per the plan in your service book. Have a look.

Checked every 15k but I'm pretty sure CVT fluid to be replaced at 60k (my service manual is too far away at the moment).

That doesn't sound right, all dealers should be using oil that is complying with Mitsu specs, otherwise they'd be voiding the warranty. If any of the cars they service, stuffs up, the dealership would be liable.

CVT Fluid is some ridiculous high KM like 120k from memory.
And CVT isn't the dearest fluid known to man... Priced SST fluid lately?

I agree. Fact is their oil met
some (if I remember correctly) of the specs but definitely not all. I'm glad I asked them but I prob would have provided my own anyway

Did mine recently through a trusted local mechanic. Cost me $90 and I provided oil and filter ($60).
