What is the Lancer IO?

Postby JaCe » Mon Dec 28, 2009 8:23 pm

Been trying to find info on it but there isn't much (in English) on the net. Also tried to search here but to no avail.

From what I can tell it is an Asian model Lancer which has a front resembling an E90 BMW 3 Series and the rear has tail lights similar to the LED ones which are on sale here on Club CJ. Anyone else got any info?

Think all it is basically the CJ with different exterior styling for the Taiwanese market.

Not sure if I'd give up our design over it. :?

I think it looks alright... a bit more generic/bland, but it still looks better than the new Subarus.

The Lancer IO website http://www.lancerio.com.tw/ is all in Taiwanese and it's all in Adobe Flash so cannot google translate it either. From stuffing around on the website, I did get the photos section...
I do like the red stitching on the steering wheel, shifter and brake. Be nice if they had it in blue! :D

Oh and it looks like it has CF trim on the interior...

I like how it has the LED tail lights stock standard. Does anyone know if all the Asian Lancers have the LED's as standard?? Does that mean the new Lancers here in OZ will be sold as with LED taillights stock standard as well??

The front kinda looks more like an Aurion than a Lancer tho lol.

I'm guessing MY11 released in Sept 2010 will have LED smoked tail lights and different coloured stitching and the full CF look interior trim on the VRX as an option. :D

The LED lights look nice but I don't think they would be that nice if everyone had them... the current ones look alright IMO (i.e. the non LED ones) hence why I was reluctant to change.

i personally dont like it, there were 3 major factors for me buying my vrx
1, looks
2, features
3, 5/10 warranty
but looks are always my major factor when choosing a car, if a car looks ugly i wont buy it because ill have to live with the ugliness for how ever long i have the car, and in my opinion, that variant is ugly.
a huge problem with cars in the lower price ranges is it is very rare for a good looking car to come along.
the cj lancer is a very very good looking car, and what they have done with that new face is ruin it.
just my opinion guys n girls.
