Car manufacturers are always bringing out models lik e this to generate interests and sales. And Mitsubishi really needs it as the lancer is now over 10 years old

A recent member to the forum brought a black edition. I took a look at the pictures i could find online, all the dash is red accented and the red stitching extends to the handbrake and gear knob.

Forget the black painted trims and stiiching.. make apple CarPlay a basic feature for the LS/GSR. A possible sunroof, heated seats a standard feature and standard safety sensors like lane departure and all that Jazz.. then maybe it’ll be a significant buy versus it’s rivals.

Only big sell points in my opinion for the lancer in this day and age at a brand new price is its punchy 2.4, it’s sporty design, realiblity and it’s AEM support. Other then that Honda/Mazda and few others are making some more bang for buck cars
We are all in it for the fun!

Somewhere along the way the manufacturer lost touch with the end user, or maybe we as end users expected too much from the manufacturers? I can see the logic for putting a vehicle like this to market, it moves slow moving stock, and excess parts that would have been tipped or sold for a greater loss through stock reduction auctions. I work with a bloke who used to be a Mitsubishi salesman in Frankston, they used to get ex lease Magnas, slap a kit on it, a spoiler, or a badge and palm it off quick. the Solara is an example of that, paint a stripe along the bottom and call it something "special"

The black edition has been around for a few months now, at least my local dealer has been selling for around 2-3 months. Bit disappointed that its CVT with no manual option and couldn’t even add something as simple as flappy paddles, with the bits that are extra, the blacked out parts you could do for a few hundred dollars etc.

Does look good. But $2K extra for a few different colours is a bit much. And its the same headunit as my LX, its a piece of turd for a headunit, started comingg standard in most Lancers after 2015. The bluetooth is unreliable and the USB ports are a pos.

They could at least have included, lower priced ES Sport, extras. Side skirts and rear spoiler! lousy sods!
Black roof no thanks! Just makes the cabin hotter in summer. If it was vinyl then wouldn't transfer heat as much.

For me, vinyl roof OK, same silver colour as my car with carbon fiber look!! Might even assist a little with sound proofing!!
Larger wheels lower profile tyres. No thanks, prefer a more comfortable quieter ride!

Sarusa, have a look in the factory sunroof thread at the photos of my roof behind the roof lining, the vinyl would have to be about 1.2mm thick and lead lined to make a difference with noise  it is a piece of panel steel about .6mm thick with a few support struts. to prevent buckling

Those extreme measures, could be said, would make a difference every ware else as well but would be pointless!

Just put a patch of vinyl wrap on your cars roof. tap on the patch and then tap on the bare metal! No different? OK
Leave in the sun for say half an hour! No different? OK
