Hey guys,
I'm after these smoked headlight tints and was wondering if another person is interested to take advantage of $5 off promo for 2 and split with the postage cost from Canada.
The smoked tints are off ebay. heres the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HEADLIGH ... ccessories
Also wanna make the purchase relatively quickly as our aussie dollar is high against the US right now
It will cost around $30 each.
let me know and i will organize it soon

Dare I say highly illegal and stupid? You're reducing the output of your headlights and blinkers. If a car claims they didn't see your blinker, etc and you have a crash there is also the possibility your insurance policy is voided.
Oh and no need to rush, the $ won't be dropping anytime soon and is only like to rally further upwards over the coming months!

Ryan in his own way is right. I'd urge you to think about it too. but if you're keen still, please ignore us and go ahead.
US$ is to fall further which is why I'm holding off some American buys.

Didnt know the full extent on how much vision it would reduce. thanks for the info.
How about the half smoked black? It shows up alot clearer than the full ones.
There is also another place that is selling HID Blue ones and wondering if they be any better.
I know they all reduce visibility but if the half smoked or HID blue offer just slight reduced vis then i wouldn't mind putting them on.

I guess the only way to know for certain is to buy them and see how you go. If you were going to go down this path, definitely go the half smoked. Those dark ones are way too dark.

By reducing the visibilty of your lights in any way you are risking a defect notice and possibly giving your insurance company a nice way to weasel their way out of a claim!!
It might look good but i really would not at all recommend doing it on anything other than a show car that's never driven on the roads...
A defect is no big deal but how would you feel if you wrote off your lancer and then the insurance was voided, leaving you $20,000 short on your car, plus any other damage you've done to another driver's car? I think if that happened you'd very much regret the decision to put them on!

its definitely at your own risk if u do decide to install.
I have the darkest ones on, and i can definitely say it has reduced the brightness of my headlights.. however, previously i have heaps of drivers high beaming me coz of too bright (10k HID) now its less, no one is beamin me.. mite be similar brightness as stock.. still your insurance wont cover that..
Been pulled over atleast 3 times now having my headlight tint on.. but nothing was defected.. (hope i dnt jinks it). i guess its not noticeable at all when u have ur headlights on..
again, install at ur own risk~ cheers.

Isn't this defectable if it's so dark? I've seen it in Australia once and it looked very very dark.
On another note, I think there are some local importers which sell it if you're interested.

its definitely defectable~
i guess in my cases, they didnt noticed at all as it was at night and had my headlights on.
not rationalising it, i noticed the Audi TTs and some ford headlights i see are relatively dark.. is plastic slightly tinted, or is it just plainly because its more black housing.

Hahahhaha open both front windows i like that. I should got darker tint on the rear for my ride. But when i got it done the guy was like anything darker than 35% on all the windows will cause issues with insurance n stuff. I didnt know it back then, but if i did, i woulda just got 25% on the front then 5% on the rear

Its up to you if you wanted to give them a go, the darkest one looks pretty dark though.
as people above have said it could be used for insurance to dodge a claim or even for police to slap a canary on the windscreen, but if you want to get it then get it and try it out. if you don't like it you should be able to take it off again
