I did that 3 times last week.
Shat myself each time, also managed to piss the other person off each time....as you can imagine luckily they swerved to avoid/I noticed at last second. Have been checking blind spot religiously since.

could have been worse , you could have collected your rim on the way through and snapped your axle inturn you could have spun out of control and into a tree and or flipping your car creating a multi car pile up and being the news headlines at 6pm
if you look at it like that dude you got out pretty cheaply LOL

yeah it def coulda been a lot worse im glad im ok and my passenger as well, one of my best friends was in the car with me. i dunno if i can afford to get shadows mirrors right now. i cant afford the excess my parents will have to pay for it and ill pay em back.
thing is this particular road comes from an 80 motorway to a 60 zone towards the end, so im trying to merge into the 60 zone doing maybe 60-70 but people are still doing 80 instead of slowing down.

shadows mirrors will probley be worth less than the factory OEM stuff they will put back on...When your organising to get it fixed, see if they let you source some of the products...

most insurance companies will only repari it wiht the original parts unless you had them under the old insurance policy as an extra
maybe food for thought for next time

Yeah fair point. Well, if you explain to the insurance companies you can source out cheaper parts maybe they might let you do it. The less money the insurer pays out would be better for them

but it wont end up cheaper if i have to pay for 2 mirrors instead of just one plus postage

When you factor in postage and the fact that he only needs one, probably not.

I came close to cutting someone off... It's those dam side mirrors... Cars appear further then they are. I'm used to this on the passenger side, but not the drivers side.
Does anyone know if the folding mirrors from shadows also have the same type of mirrors fitted, or is the drivers one a normal mirror ?

Your best bet is to PM shadows directly about it. And i love the mirrors on the lancers, their HUGEEE! No need for a rear vision mirror imo.
As i said, probably would be less, didnt say it would be.
