Got the car back today, very happy with the crash repair and the other work done APART FROM the left front fender. They said they had to remove the MIVEC badge to blend the colour into the door which had scratch and dents taken out of it, i got first chance to look at it at home (they didnt come and take me around the car otherwise i would have seen it then).
The badge hasnt been replaced and it looks like they have chipped the paint and just touched it up. I rang the service manager and did my block. Taking it back on Monday for them to fix up (I PAID for the spray booth time for a panel blend which required them to remove the MIVEC badge, so its pretty cut and dried that patching it up is not acceptable)

Was at Morningside railway station this morning, those in Bris will know about todays traffic incident, the guy who hit me had come from Bribie (shoulda Creek st there are 2 left turning lanes, the douche in the right lane flat out cut me off (and got a gobful of horn), and saw some other darwin-award-nominee cut off a bus on the capt cook bridge, so plenty of it on the road today.
The guy was actually pretty calm about it (he knows he was at fault but of course we didnt talk about it, just the details). The police said as long as we are swapping details and no injuries they dont need to attend which today is fair enough.
Picking up a hire car 2morro courtesy of RACQ, car getting assessed on Monday but have already been called by assessment centre its being put 2 top of list

yeah im fine, ironically while we were exchanging details an ambulance officer was driving past, she stopped and took our details, offered to get an ambulance out 2 check us out.
its not likely to be too bad, got a hire car in the meantime so at least im still mobile.

Yeah bummer Phil. Every time it rains in Brisbane it's like playing revolver roulette!!

the rain hadnt actually started, think its most likely the other guy was on an unfamiliar road and either didnt see the pedestrians entering the crossing (the reason i was slowing) or had slower reaction time.

Yeah Brisbane roads are pretty tough for visitors. Mate of mine was really nervous when he drove around here. Couldn't deal with the hills either.

not as if its only a local thing that you have to stop for pedestrians on a zebra crossing, and pay attention to whats in front of you...

What a shame, on the bright side you get a freshly painted bumper with no fallout on it
Looks like he was still going at a fair rate when he hit, wouldn't surprise me if he's written himself off.

i have a few other little scratches etc (carpark things etc) so might c if i can offer cash to the repairer to do them as well, considering they will have to mix up a batch of paint anyway (there was some steel panel damage as well as the boot lid)
