You just have to convince them to let you replace things with different parts and pay the difference. A lot of places don't like doing that from what I hear though. Might be easier now that 'ralliart' bumpers are the norm though.

Absolutely sure there were no security cameras around?

If theres a distance shot of it happening, then maybe when they drive off they'll drive near another camera or a shop or something? Just ideas :)

Unfortunately, in most cases, you need to pay the excess in a hit-and-run. At AAMI, you can be let off if you can identify the rego of the car that hit you.

Hopefully your security can catch the culprit.

Hey Erin I hope you find the culprit! They are just causing more trouble for themselves by running away from the issue they have created. >.>

Unfortunately, if you can't get the details of the offending party, and your insurer can't deduct the costs from anyone you'll have to pay the excess and it will be an at-fault claim.

If the damage costs are greater than your excess go through insurance keeping in mind your premium may go up next year if you make an at-fault claim.

If you want to change anything from stock you'll have to negotiate with your insurer. Some don't let you so make sure you know beforehand before you submit a claim. Best to source a ralliart front bumper from the dealers, and it should be easier now that MY12 lancers come with ralliart front bumper stock. You can get the stock halogen headlights pretty cheap on eBay/wreckers.

I'm sorry to hear about your damage. It really sucks when people don't have the common decency to leave a note. They probably didn't have insurance... Karma will catch up to them...
