How much is the lancer worth @ dealership trade in's?

I hate to say this but the time's up for the lancer. I've recently been looking at differet vehicles, and wondering about trading in my lancer.
My lancer is a ES CJ Lancer MY2008, CVT. It has a geniune VR-X spoiler and rims, has not been involved in accidents, full logbook service history and generally a straight body. It has just under 90000km's on the clock.
Rebook tells me the price is $9100 - $10990 at trade in. Is this figure reliable? I'm hoping to get 10k for it.

Dealer offered $13,000 for my 08 vrx cvt with 30,000km. That was just outright, no trade in/ sales pitch for new car etc. I did not accept.
If you dont need to sell right this day and dont mind a few tyre kickers here and there, private sale is the way to go.
private sale cars like yours go for 13,000
dealer will probably offer you the low end of the redbook 9000

What are you planning to buy next?
Trade-ins are big rip-offs. They will take your car about a couple of grand less than the redbook value.

private sales are always going to get you more money.
i wouldnt ever trade it unless the car is in bad condition and you more want to get rid of it then sell it

Not a penny.
Tried to trade in my '08 Olympic Ed. in its fully moded state for a WRX STI and was told A$9,000.
The dealer told me they had to restore it back to stock to sell it.

Thanks for the replies guys.
The only problem that I have with selling it privately is that I'm away from home quite often. I'll have to get my mate to keep my lancer at his place so people can come and look at it when suitable. I'll prolly have to sell it privately if the dealership is going to offer me less than 9k. I'll see what happens.

You can strike a better deal with the trade-in if the car you're buying isn't selling very well (Hint: looks a lot like your car but with forced induction and two extra drive wheels).

Lol I'm gonna be getting a golf GTI. Not sure how VW dealers look at lancers.

Why GTI? The next-gen Golf is just around the corner. VW is unlikely to value a Lancer well, unfortunately. My next pick is Focus ST if not RA.

well i decided not to trade in after thinking about it, will sell it other means. i was actually wondering if mitsubishi dealers would buy secondhand lancers? has anyone experienced any dealings in selling a secondhand vehicle back to a dealer?

i got the GTI on a very very good deal.
5 door DSG, 18" detroit wheels, factory tint for 39k drive away. it's basically a demo with 25km's on the clock, so practically it's a new car.
a lancer RA is at least 40-43k drive away at best, plus the terrible experience with one particular mitsu dealer in september when they advertised the 0.9% finance deal put me off mitsubishi dealerships.

yeah it depends on the dealership some will some wont however they probably wont give u mich for it . i would try to sell it to a non - mitsubishi dealer on the off chance you might get a bit more knowing that its not a car they normally deal with like a toyota dealer , they may value it more than an mitsubishi dealer
