VR problems starting
Hi, so sushi saw the mechanic before drove over to Adelaide, no problems were found. Except the other night I went to go out n bang he wouldnt start until I revved him a bit =( thought it must have been for it was cold? Then today he started fine, drove 30mins into the city, turned him off for about 1.5hrs then bang he didn't want to start again. Any ideas what could be causing this?
sounds like the battery is on the way out, its only just low enough to still crank over the engine fine, but cant provide a strong enough spark at the same time. the bad weather we have been having in Adelaide doesnt help out on older batteries also.
reason that opening the throttle body a little (putting your foot on the throttle and cranking over) helped is because it opens the intake for a higher fuel and oxygen mix and makes it easier for a smaller/weaker spark to ignite.
i would get your battery tested and see how much voltage it is holding as well as the CCA output.
