Ya that's how I wired my grill led strip. Just wasn't sure if I could also add on the angel eyes in the same way. I'm gonna have to give it a try on the weekend but i think I've got a solution. I'm going to wire in the angel eyes to the dome light and the parklight with a relay to switch between one and the other.
So when the relay coil isn't charged pin 30 and 87A will be connected which will be the dome light powering the angel eyes giving the fade effect and unlock function. When triggered, pin 30 and 87 will be connected which will be the parking light circuit and since 87a wont be connected there shouldn't be any feedback to the dome light. The trigger, pin 85, will be the same source as pin 87, the parklight +.
So when the parklights turn on the power to the angle eyes should switch from dome light to parklight. Only thing to test is if the domelight circuit can power the angel eyes. I'll take some pics this weekend and post up a how to or how not to do depending on how I go.

this is what i was going to do with the foot-well led's..
except i was thinking of trying to do it where the led's fade on/off like the map lights, but dont turn on/off when you push the map lights on..

eg; open door - map lights and led's fade on,
get in car and shut door - map lights and led's fade off,
push one of the map lights in to switch it on, and just that map light turns on.
does the harness in the fuse box carry the signal from the door aswell as the power?
i'll have to test this sometime :)

Thats how my current led strip is set up. It only gets power when the doors are open/unlock the car. Once inside the car with the doors closed or start the engine, the map/dome lights fade out along with the led strip. If I then want just the driver side map light on for instance, only it comes on.

The map light on/off switch is sorta separate. The light is always hooked up to + and is negatively triggered. So the circuit is completed by either the door function(somehow closes the ground) or the switch which closes the other ground wire. All the lights are wired to to same door function but all have separate switches. When you switch the domelight to OFF its just a third position thats not connected to any ground so no light.

Example: If you turn a map light on the domelight don't turn on as well even though when doors open/unlock they all go on. Same goes for any led's if you wire them up right.

If you wired your led's directly to the map lights after the switch then you'd run into the problem your describing. Also trying to run wires in the headliner could get tricky. If you however wire them up like shown in the link jerryme posted, they'll only function with the doors/unlock. Just need to figure out how many leds can be wired up to the one circuit...

K got my angel eyes in the mail and went by jaycar and picked up some 5 pin relays wired it up to the dome light circuit and instead of the park lights I wired it up to cigarette adapter with a built in switch. Open the doors and the angel eyes came on. Door closed they faded out. Turned on the cigarette switch, relay clicked over and angel eyes came on. Turned on/off all the map/dome lights, lights stayed on.
Now I just gotta take the front off, bake the lights and wire it up for good.
I'll take some pics and draw up a wiring diagram to better explain it

K all done and put back together. Angel eyes come on and off just like the map/dome lights. When the cars on they are off unless a switch is flicked.

was gonna wire them to the park lights but wired up the drl led strips instead

very nice! :)

i still have to get around to opening up my headlights and putting them in...

so if i were to follow this wiring diagram, but instead of the switch, have that wired to the parkers,
would the angel eyes fade on/off with the door and also be on whenever the parkers are on?

Ya just run a single wire from the + passenger parklight back inside the car to the relay to act as the trigger.

Hi guys,

I still don't quite get it.

I want to do it in a way then if my lights are on, and when i unlock the car it will turn it on and lock it will off. However when the light switch is off, when i unlock the car, i don't want anything to happen.

Not sure if it make sense, but is it possible?

stumped me.
Do you want it so if the car is on acc or engine on, you can then lock/unlock to control the AE's or do you mean if you left the car off with the lights on next time you go to unlock the car they come on?

i dont know how it (this relay system) could "know" whether you left the lights on or off. I think that would involve the ecu which probably is best left alone.
you could wire up like my diagram but put in a extra switch from the door ground to the relay to act as a master switch. If that was off then it wouldnt light up with the unlock.
You'd have to though know that the next time you lock/unlock your car you didn't want the angel lights to come on. kinda takes away from the automatic part of it in my opinion.
