If I'm the third owner, the cars always been to a private mechanic and its out of warranty can I still send it to a Mitsubishi dealership to get this done?

Has anyone else been given the runaround and a list of excuses by a dealership as to why they cant do the recall?

I just keep getting bs about the parts arent available for a ralliart and have to wait for them to one day turn up.....

I'm betting if you were paying to have the parts replaced they would be there!

no excuses, no, if your car is within the 09/011 range they HAVE TO do it, its a safety recall.

perhaps report the dealer to mitsu oz?

Well I actually did call mitsu customer support the last time I got stuffed about. They just said that it seemed strange and not an ideal situation and they noted the dealership.

That doesnt really help me too much.......

The latest excuse is that the ralliart parts for the belt and pulleys are not the same as a "standard lancer" (well no dur) and have to be specially ordered by vin number and are on back order because of high demand with no time frame for when the parts will come in nor when it will be done.

Has anyone with an RA had theirs done in the last few weeks???

Not too happy with the dealership near my place.

Went in for my scheduled booking today only to be told that they've ran out of the replacement parts needed. Apparently there's a shortage in South Australia till like the end of February?

The part that annoyed me the most was that I was only informed about it after I went to the booking with my car. A simple phone call to inform me would help.

For argument sake what happens if you have the car booked in and the dealer can't get the parts but in the mean time you suffer engine damage from the faulty parts? I can only assume Mitsubishi would pay for the repairs.

they`d be liable, the belt powers the brake assist and steering assist.
u could kill somebody or yourself, thats why its a safety recall
