Lancer air bag recall 2003-2008

Not sure if it was published here but a few days ago there was a recall for some older Lancer for their air bags sold in AU. They affect cars build between 03 and 08. I know this will not affect most here.

"According to the company, 59,522 Lancers (CH models of sedan and wagon, plus CY and CZ Evo sedans) are to be recalled. The build dates for the vehicles affected range from June 11, 2003 to December 30, 2008."

Just thought I'd post it in case some here have an older CH alongside their CJ.

My old CH had airbags deploy. No shrapnel found luckily enough.

They keep adding to the recall for these airbags, I just wonder if any CJ will be next.

My old CC is much safer, zero air bags

Not good when no airbags is safer, thank you for this post, i will need to take in our evo for this!

Like the recent drive belt recall on the CJ they just need a VIN and should be able to check.

Bloody hell. This airbag recall just keeps on getting bigger.

When I heard about it in May, it was affecting a huge number of cars - up in the millions - and all different brands, too. Everything from Ford to Mercedes and everything in between.
