Honestly, it is all up to you.

As a 4B11T swap owner. It wasnt done on a budget and just wanted to get it done. Its a good learning curve. But in saying that, the 4B11t motor isnt a straight fit. Theres minor things that have to be changed and is around the 6k mark. Would need a shop to do it. But again, its your car. People say sell it and buy an RA because its easier and more "reliable" but again. Its just another RA liek everyone elses. Choice is purely upto you :D

Buy an RA! not biased at all :D

Either way a money pit will be a money pit, do whichever makes you more happy. Test drive if you can.

i guess the main advantages of the RA is AWD and the SST box.
i enjoy the SST gearbox, some prefer manual.

Mmm yes, being able to feel the clutch bite hard in S-Sport mode is very pleasing.

Maybe you should have thought about that before spending 8K doing the makeover? You could have put that towards a Ralliart?

Money wise - turbocharge your existing engine.
If you want AWD - buy a RA.

RA is the way to go if it was me, you get a pocket rocket out the box but again depends on your budget

IMO the biggest issue with any mechanical mods which involve transplanting an engine and drive train into a car not sold with them is the engineering paperwork. Getting it legal and running as it would have come out of the factory, but if you have the time and can do the work it might be the way to go.

That said it might end up far cheaper to find a good RA and just paint that orange and do other mods to it and know the mechanics are legal and working.

to reiterate, the RA will give u double your current power with a 3/400 dollar tune plus AWD, so good in the twisties and the lovely SST box.

no fuss.

Now on to some helpful advice...

Upgrading to a Ralliart is the much more sensible choice. The only reason you'd want the 4B11T swap is if you have a manual and stand by it. I suggest you test the SST and see how good it is. Flash the S-Sport mode and you'll feel it kick almost like a stick, but without bogging down when changing gears. Flicking the paddles will shift gears more quickly than your left hand and foot can ever muster, no matter how well you try.

Also bear in mind that anything over 300 hp (~225 kW) in a FWD chassis is not a good recipe. Unless the chassis is as sophisticated as the previous Focus RS, then you're certainly better off with 4WD.
