As you may be aware the ClubCJ.net server has been having some issues of late. - hence the server is being upgraded, so a server with almost double what we got now, RAM, disk space, bandwidth allowances has been commissioned.
In a nutshell the RAM processing memory (not hard disk) is getting all used up as the box is trying to do too much.
This relates back to the issues we had back in March 2011, however back then the issues were related to less than optimal configuration and easily fixable.
We are now at a stage where we have outgrown the capacity of the server, with more users online simultaneously and more real time updating of topics and chat, that there is no more I can do to squeeze any more grunt out of the box.
The actual downtime may vary and might be as little as a couple hours - but I've set a 7 hour window to let people know not to expect any stable service - during that period whilst Mattigins aka "Administration" and I move data across and do post-migration verification testing.
For those that are desperate for CCJ during the downtime, you may entertain yourselves over at http://www.facebook.com/ClubCJ - same forum rules apply over there as they do here....
We'll also update you via the Facebook fan page if we are having troubles or if we managed to have a painless upgrade and finish the migration quickly...
Regards,
VRX_Pete.

OK, looks like we are back on the air.
Profuse apoligies for the extended downtime.
The migration of data from the old server to the new server was unremarkable and went smoothly.
The only problem we had was getting the hostname clubcj.net to point to the new unique IP address assigned to the new server, so your computers would hit the new server. Which is the most important bit!
The problem was due to an oversight and incorrect assumption on our part that we would be able to make the required changes via our hosting provider's self service portal (apparently, and the tell us, we should be able to!) - however it wasn't the case. Further complicating all the issues was the inability of the weekend staff at the hosting provider to be able to make any of the changes, either to skill shortage or security access restrictions for being authorised to make the changes themselves.
Anyway, the new server is up. I may have to make some fine tuning changes when there is peak load in the evenings. During the time people have not been able to log in - we checked almost every feature and action on the forum and all seems to be working fine.
If you notice anything not working or "odd" let us know in the thread @ http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=222546#222546
